The thing is it has become a trend vs Richmond & MCG & Hawks at the MCG - not just losses but the ones that really take it out of you because of the lack of effort showed.

Was probably going to go to the game but will see how I go with uni work.

Here are the reserve results

Sydney Swans
Goal Kickers: M. MORTON 8, T. WALSH 2, J. Davis , T. Thurgarland , M. SPANGHER , H. CUNNINGHAM , A. Moody , N. Bosschieter , J. MOORE , B. MEREDITH
Best Players: J. MOORE, M. PYKE, T. WALSH, H. CUNNINGHAM, S. BIGGS, C. HEATH

If it were up to me Moore, Pyke, Walsh and Morton will be in the team next week.

Drop Reid, McGlyn, White and maybe Hannebury/Parker if one of them is injured.

Bring in Pyke. He is frightening. Quick can take a mark and is willing to crash packs. Not a pea heart like white and reid have been today. To be fair don't think it is all Reids fault lack of support in the forward line doesn't help. Grundy could be an option going forward his brain farts won't be as noticeable down there.

Parker? How serious is it he got quite the knock.

OUT: Everitt, White, McGlynn
IN: Walsh, Pyke, Morton

Leave Reid one more week to hopefully play himself into some form against Melbourne.

Performances like that can't go unpunished.

i have no doubt horse will point out and drive it into them that we were very poor. we can't change the result now, but we can learn from it. 2 weeks ago we pumped hawthorn in tassie. this loss will be a nice wake up call. i will start asking serious questions if we drop ANY of our next 3 games.

Players need to learn that their spots are not assure in the team and that they have to work hard to earn those spots. Longmire needs to make changes this week simply to reward players who are playing well in the reserves and punish those players that did not even try against Richmond.

But the players we are calling to be dropped have been crap for weeks. Reid has done nothing since half time against the Dockers. McGlynn has look terrible all year. White - lol. And Everitt had that decent game where he kicked three, but other than that he's been useless.

tThe side needs a bit more pace which has been lacking since Gaz went down. I'd seriously look at Cunningham, while he hasn't dominated the reserves he has shown flashes that he can play at a higher level. Just stick him at half forward with a role to hunt down rebounding defenders. He has a keen eye for goal too so he won't be completely useless offensively either

We are also missing Shaw's run and carry from defence given his tagging duties. Mattner has also seem to have lost his capacity to run, maybe for good too. I'm not completely sold on Armstrong's capabilities in this role but he must be given a chance

Up forward Walsh can provide a physical presence but he is still raw and will make many mistakes and no doubt frustrate us in equal measure

ok, so we drop white, everitt and reid. what talls do we replace them with up forward?

I don't understand the whole, yeah ok let's drop White & Everitt & Reid etc argument. It's not as though if we bring in other talls to replace them they'll perform better. Structurally we have no choice. Seriously, how much more influence is Pyke, Walsh and.... <insert another non existent tall here> going to have. I understand to play your best 22, but unless we want to stock up the forward line with B grade midfielders then I don't understand what the changes are going to do. There is absolutely no guarantee that they will perform better. At the same time Walsh and Pyke are NOT going to slot in well and perform anything more, at the very least Reid brings it to ground. They're dealing with AFL first/second defenders, it's going to take them a while to adapt. Maybe against Melbourne we can afford to, but really I cannot see how on EARTH they can deal with those 1st/2nd defenders. Best case scenario they break even, probable case easy pickings and marks for the opposition, quick rebounds etc.

White/Reid is not working in terms of scoreboard, but bring in a Pyke/Walsh combination & watch not only the scoreboard remain at 0 but the crumbers get nothing and the opposition scoring from it.

Keep Everitt and drop White and Reid. Bring in Pyke and Walsh.

well i'd keep everitt, 50/50 on reid and the less said about white, the better. but for a start i'd hope longmire would work on getting the midfielders to hit them on the chest when they lead. trying to sit the ball on their head isn't going to work.

White and Reid offered us nothing today. If they do that they cannot be allowed to stay in the team. Surely Pyke and Walsh would offer more of a contest (plus adding Pyke would strengthen our ruck division).

Based of what?
