Ok - I'm going to post my Team for the first time this season as I really need some advice from the community.

Basically I have $390K to spend after multiple downgrades and planned a double upgrade this week. Was going to do King to Yeo (still under 500K) and Budarick to mid premo of choice. Then complete my team in coming weeks with Duncan, Cripps and Stewart all cheap as chips over the next 2-3 weeks.

Pittonet was going to be my last upgrade once Gawn put in a normal score (110ish) and drops to a normal price (which always happens - even if when he plays Goldy, Grundy, etc).

Then shittonet shat the bed and must be traded out. Problem is, I can afford Gawn but it took 3-4 downgrades to get that bank. It would all be spent on 1 player which will severely limit my ability to upgrade to bottomed out premos. In a shortened season, getting value is key and Gawn is at a massive price (he'll be $120k more than anyone else in the comp by the end of this week). No one has ever maintained an average and price that high - not even GAJ in his permacap days (see Neale who will be 130k cheaper after 1 quieter game). Goldy is 110K cheaper and averaging 130+. I think they could average similar and this would allow me to get closer to a complete team much sooner, especially as I have many new rookies who will take time to moo. Goldy has bye to come (and is bloody old) and its Gawn so I'm not sure.

What 2 trades do i make with this please??

toxic Andrew Birch WaynesWorld19

Thanks guys!!!!!

I’d look to get the 2 heavy hitters of the year gawn/Neale. Particularly as we’re headed towards several best 18 rounds (there’ll be more in the next fixture block)

Pitto>Gawn
Taylor>Mayes (via Dusty)

Neale has a 199BE so next week Fyfe>Neale.

You're in good shape on-field and have some money sitting on the benches. If it were my team i would do

Pitto > Gawn
Starce > Mcpherson (if named)

Rd9
Brander > Ling
Williamson > Tom Stewart
Budarick > 117/123k M/F rookie

Rd10
King > premo fwd or premo mid
Mchenry > rookie

So as you can see, you can still upgrade over the next few rounds whilst aquiring the #1 SC player this week.
For me Gawn is a must .....you get an extra game out of him, as he's had a bye

If you want Yeo, go Fyfe to Yeo ....and Pittonet to Gawn

Every chance Fyfe won't come back until after his R10 Bye .....that's 3 more games without a Fyfe score, you can trade him back ....personally I think he'll drop in value on his return after so long out

Leaves you with still $156K in the bank

Thanks guys - really appreciate the help!

(Looks like consensus is to spend on Gawn and find money elsewhere with the other trade - which is fair enough)

I agree with the other sentiments too. Get Gawn this week

Argghhh, I hate Thursday games as I have Tenpin League and just don't get the opportunity to make calls after teams drop. On the bright side I'm averaging 212 so far post COVID-19!

I have $636k in the bank after double downgrade last week including Heeney.

Thinking this week going Starc to Ridley and T Berry to Petracca. Should I ditch Brander instead, given he isn't getting a game? Just feel if he can get back in he can me some more cash...

You can probably get Stewart cheap next week and I reckon he will average the same as Ridley. I'd get an extra promo mid this week if I was you.

Will be going 2 down this week so I can afford Gawn next week.

Can't decide which two out of;
Mcpherson, Eggmolese, Simpson, Minchington, Mayes/Georgiades.

Green + King > Egg + Minchington leaves me 225,000
Next week I can go Pitto + Taylor to Gawn + some other shit campaigner.

Patiently waiting for finalised teams... Thankfully I've been busy with work today otherwise I would have been researching rookies all day.

Want a DEF rookie this week, it's pretty much down to McKay and McPherson. I like Day but he's too expensive now

Heard Hunter was out for the season. Must get Macrae!
Grabbed Macrae and Bailey Smith, VC on Macrae. WINNING!!

Did my trades in a huge rush, heading out fishing for the night, sitting in my boat, chasing the tide, waiting for team announcements.
Imagine my dismay, coming back into phone range this morning and realizing I had Smith on the bench, with no E.
LOSER!!

Every season without fail I make at least a couple of stupid, costly mistakes. Usually when life gets in the way of Supercoach!

Pittonet to Goldy
Brander to Eggy

Unfortunate that big Stef Martin is injured this week, would have given Gawn an absolute bath!
Gawn vs BL - High of 105, with an Avg of 74
Would he though? A closer inspection suggests Martin wasn't the reason for that low average.
After that 105 which was acceptable in his breakout year Gawn has scored the following against the Lions.

2016 63 points - beaten in the ruck by the double team of West and Martin but probably wasn't right as he scored his worst score of the year (49) the previous week.

2017 78 points - a terribly injury interrupted season and rarely at his best. The 78 was scored between a 56 the week before and a 67 the week after, so clearly far from being right.

2018 97 points - scored poorly because his possessions were down and he took just 1 mark. Dominated the ruck with 48 hitouts.

2019 46 points - injured an ankle early and was on and off the ground all game.

So it seems Martin may not have been the reason for those low scores, but it is a concern that fate seems to find a way to make him score badly against Brisbane. Interesting to see what happens this week.

who are you?

Just traded in big Soldo of Fortune.
Sphincter has never been tighter.

Just couldn't bring myself to commit to the inefficiency of spend on Gawn in the end.

Clearly you have no idea! ;)

S. Hill out injured, with no playing D7/8, I’ll have to change my trades. Glad he wasn’t a late out and they let us know well before the bounce

Yep, Hill ruins plans. I either got to skip the Petracca upgrade this week or.... gulp... keep Shittonet at R3 to lose some more cash. Gotta buy a defender to avoid the donut.
