The ******* is on my bench this week. Have more faith in Cripps, Touk and CEY scoring far better.
This.

Griffen becomes Rocky next week.
Sideways trade by price only.
Potential, reliability and haircut all in Rockys favour.

Ended up reversing completely and going VDB and Brown -> Steele and McDonald.

Thought it was a good week to get McDonald in. Should have a bit of attacking to do v Dogs

Now that I've said that he will probably get a 60

so many peeps keeping griff. almost a pod kicking him early.
I changed my mind and put him on my field for Krak.
Think he might go well in the wet against a contested side like the Crows.

Still trading his arse asap. Too inconsistant for a premo spot.
He might last untill his bye and maybe, just maybe stick it out at M8.

Probably going to pass on Lever this week.

A rookie at $157k scoring 38 doesn't scream "pick me!" Yes I know he scored 90, but who knows which score is more likely from him?
People are trading him in based on that 90, and the fact that there are not many defensive rookies coming through.

Well, that last point is not entirely true.

I've done a little research, here are some potential downgrade targets for defenders this year.

Jake Kolodjashnij has been named an emergency again for Geelong. This kid can play, and should get some games soon. Well priced at only $123,900.
Jonathan Marsh has been performing well in the Collingwood VFL side. Has pace, and can also play on the wing. Named as an emergency several times this year. On the cusp of a debut at only $123,900.
Brayden Maynard has a beautiful left foot kick, and spends time in the midfield as well as half back for Collingwood. Named an emergency this week and is only $117,300.
Matthew Scharenberg is looking better and better every week in Collingwood's VFL team, and will play senior football this year. Will be a good late-season downgrade target at only $123,900
Jack Leslie plays his second match this week for the Gold Coast, scoring 54 last week. On the downside, he could lose his spot to Rory Thompson over the next couple of weeks. Also priced high for a rookie at $148,400.
Shaun Edwards is an emergency for Essendon this week, many had him in their pre-season teams before Round 1. Priced at $123,900
Hugh Goddard from St.Kilda was pencilled in for an early season debut. Should play this year. Price is $122,300
Joel Hamling is another that should get game time, but Michael Talia seems to have his spot at the Doggies right now. Only $123,900
Michael Fuller was a mature aged draftee last year for the Dogs, and is yet to debut. Currently injured though. Priced at $123,900
Tom Barrass is another that has been named emergency, could breakthrough soon for West Coast. Also priced at $123,900
Ciaran Byrne will return to the Carlton line-up after he returns from injury. Played 1 game for 22 before getting injured. Priced at $123,900

A few others like Karpany (WC $123,900), X.Richards (Syd $123,900), Clurey (PA $150,000), Durdin (NM $147,300), Dalgleish (Ess $145,100), Vojo-Rainbow (Carl $117,300) all could surprise and get games.

Stay away from Dick though, that guy sucks.

Hope some of this info helps! Feel free to add some more to this, and I might even add it to the rookie and defender threads.

Ended up going Oxley -> Lever, VDB -> Parker.

Will use the cash from Oxley to upgrade Brown to a Premo defender, probably Rance because of his Round 11 Bye.

Two Collingwood rookies out for Round 11 players :thumbsu:

What are the poor sods who have Griffen doing?

I'm torn, as i've come this far, I know if I ditch him now he'll bust out a 120+

It's either upgrade him to Rance

or Downgrade VDB to someone (probably C Ellis)

Have we come too far to drop him?
I traded his sorry ass weeks ago and was worried about his 130+ score, but guess what? It never came. Dump him. 1 hit wonder, ie. 1 season as a premo.
Just on Yeo - Since moving to the midfield he has featured in the coaches votes for the last 4 weeks.

If the coaches are happy then he's going to keep playing the same role
His role is irrelevant. Do you think he has the physical fitness to jump to full time midfielder Role and sustain it for 20 weeks? What will you do if his scores gradually regress to an 80-90 avg when he was supposed to be a keeper?

90 a week as a defender is probably a keeper this year.

Offloaded Griff for Rocky and it feels good. Do it... You'll feel like a new SC'er. It freshens up your team and gives you a sense of doing something good for humanity.

I was a bad person in a past life and now I have a burden to bear. This burden is named Ryan Griffin.

Do you know what my favourite part of the weekend is?

Logging into the live scores about 25 mins into the first quarter and then opening the GWS page. I immediately scroll straight to the bottom and see the piece of shit on like 8 :(

Happens every week, and i love the pain.

Hahaha. So true. Immediately look from the bottom up knowing griffin will be there. On about 7 points

Why is it irrelevant? His scores have improved massively since moving to the midfield. A role which the coaches have continually praised his performance.

I can't see why his fitness would be an issue, he's into his 3rd season not a rookie. So yeah i think he can sustain it.

If his scores regress to a 90 avg, he's still a keeper and a relatively cheap one at that. You don;t expect 115+ midfielder scores from defenders, so a 90 average is a decent D5, D6 score. Especially this year when the quality of defenders is down upon previous years.

2014 only had 7 defenders averaging 100+ - This was a year we had Gibbs, McVeigh, Hanley, Swallow, Deledio and Goddard as defenders. Much better quality to choose from than this year. The top average for defenders was 105 last year.

I agree that Yeo will probably work out. He's in his 4th season on an AFL list and although he may not have played much as a mid to this point, it doesn't mean that he's not physically ready/able to do so.

Having said that, if I had a choice between the two, I'd rather get Simpson next week.
