I think it is a good idea getting Gilbee, but getting rid of Hodge is an iffy.

Hodge is an animal...playing while injured and 1st tagged yet scores okay (not great, but still okay).

I guess it's the same reasoning though as the people who traded Ablett out - his price is going to drop enough that you can get him back on your team for cheap if he looks better in 3 or 4 weeks.

Ins- Cooney - Kosi outs Rich - Meesen

Leaves my team looking like this

Fisher, Gilbert, Gilbee, Chad, Drummond, Hoops, Hill em Dawson, Broughton
Judd, Bartel, Goodes, Power, Cooney, Coughlan em Robinson, L.Anthony
Cox, Kosi em Jacob, Spencer
Davis, Roo, Chappy, Buddy, J.Brown, Krakeour, Higgins em Brown, Walker

would you recommend NOT using Rich as the means to get Ablett back in a couple of weeks?

I was going to do Cash + Rich + Dangerfield >> Ablett + rookie

Should I look to sacrifice a cash cow somewhere else instead? Suban, for example?

I will be looking to do something similar. Even in just 3 weeks time, Rich is gonna bet better to sell. Just seems a bit strange to me to get rid of him at his low point. I dont really expect him to maximise value til round 13, but he should at least be worth more by the time you want ablett.

I would this week only because Cooneys time is now.

Woofy raises a really interesting point. It appears that Cooney's price bottom is definitely this week. Therefore sacrificing the future cash you might make on Rich may be worth it in order to get a rising Coondogg.

making two trades...

incomes selwood for griffen

incomes dal santo for beams...

week after

macaffer for Riewolt

rich for yAblett

Can i borrow some cash$? All upgrades... tasty :D

will have to wait for teams

my backline is falling apart, hodge, rance, cheney, petrenko

if cheney or petrenko play then, i will play whoever and bench rance, saving a trade

will trade hodge then to either enright, gilbert, birchall

mids have ablett on bench with couglan playing for him

fwds

have fev??, higgins, mitch brown, hoping brown and higgins play and decide on fev

Tippett needs an upgrade in due course - however, he doing okay I guess....Petrenko needs to go, but wait for Hodge.....Problem with 16 trades...ROFL....

14 trades left with $400, rank 2994

B - 6 premiums + Hill (Dawson, Greenwood:thumbsdown::mad:)
C - Ablett, Bartel, Goodes, Power, Ziebell, Otten, (Rich, Beams)
R - 2 premiums (2 popular donkeys)
F - Goodwin, Duddy, Fev, Higgins, Krakouer, Walker, MaCaffer (M.Brown, Houlihan)

Rich ---> Cooney (cheap) /Judd (gun)
Houlihan ---> Sidebottom

I assume this is the standard trade, everyone agree? Judd or Cooney? I think most will say my midfield is okay, but everyone in my league has 5 premiums and I'm sick of Rich giving me his 40s-70s (yes, he is a rookie).

Note: I don't consider Hill and Ziebell/Otten keepers - so 3-4 trades required for last backman and midfield. The underlines players will have to be upgraded.

Are Higgins and Krakouer keepers?

You have a good team Prompts, I don't mind those trades at all. I am really feeling sick in the stomach at the thought of Houlihan not being back this week (dam drunk donkey) Fev you freaking idiot!:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Just wondering if Sidebottom is safe in the Pies team. Will the Pies play both Sidebottom and Beams in the same team?

Here is my team. Need all the help I can get.

Goddard, Fisher, Cornes, Gilbee, Houlihan, Hill, Petrenko (Rance, Broughton)

Ablett, Judd, Bartel, Selwood, Higgins, Otten (Rich, Barham)

Cox, Macintosh (Spencer, Jacobs)

Pavlich, Riewoldt, Delidio, Franklin, Krakeour, Ziebell, Macaffer (M.Brown, Hentschel)

Backline is in trouble if Houlihan still isnt named. Petrenko will most likely get the chop too. S.O.S Broughton, save my backline.

Was gonna do Houlihan > Newman last Thursday (Dammu T.Walker for looking like Hentschel) :(

Need help, suggestions, more trades, money, magic beans!

I think Cheney will play (don't quote me) - Demons had 2 injuries and Cheney was an emergency, so the odds are 2 out of 3 (aint bad) - Meatloaf.:thumbsu:

As per my previous post, trading Hodge is iffy, the worst case scenario he'll drop to $400K, so you'll lose another $80K for a trade. You can only compare the price now ($489K), not the $630K you paid for.

I think either Houlihan and/or Robinson will get a game, as Blues lost and also Robinson was BOG and Houlihan was one of best. Shouldn't Broughton get a game soon?? Yes, Petrenko needs to go, but not sure worth the trade yet...If Houlihan and Broughton get a game, don't trade.

Mids/Forwards are good. Leave them for now.

My view is Sidebottom will be safe for another 2-3 games (hey but I also thought Greenwood would be safe too...LOL )

Either way you need to get rid of Henschel otherwise he will drive you nuts (ie Walker/Henschel ).

Henschel to Sidebottom is good, but if not urgent, wait for the second week. I need to do the Sidebottom trade early to cover my forwardline. EDIT - on second thoughts you don't even need to do the Henschel to Sidebottom unless you doing it for 2 reasons..(1) get Sidebottom (2) get cash

22 possessions for Steele says his safe. With Fraser Swan and daisy not looking likely to play there is alot of spots open for other players to enter the team.Davis has tightness in his groins and stomach you'd think he'd be back, Medders will be as well as for Dids god knows.99.99% Steele will be in next week, They will play in the same side together Sidebottom and Beams we need inside midfielders and they are both that.

Going to need 22 Abletts to beat me this week Imprompt lol.I think you should go Stanton instead of those options:p

Just looked at your team...It's very similar except you are ranked very high and I"m not...LOL

WTF I play the top team without Ablett, a bit unfair.

I'm going to make Goddard/Bowden capt (who you don't have)....I'm scared Riewolt will run riot.

Bombers will win by -80points..LOL

My current team:

Goddard, Drummond, Gilbert, Hodge, Adcock, Houlihan, Rance (Petrenko, Hurley)

Ablett, Selwood, Kerr, Otten, Rich, Tuck (Barham, Robinson)

Cox, McIntosh (White, Jacobs)

Riewoldt, Pavlich, Delidio, Krakouer, Fevola, Higgins, Franklin (Ziebell, Nahas)

Happy with forwards and rucks. Backs was looking nice too until this week and getting Cooney in for the frustrating Tuck is mouth watering at the moment.

I have $48k in the bank so will be deciding after selection whether Rance/Houlihan or Petrenko make way for Grimes/rookie.

Then Tuck to Cooney.

All depends on selection, I am hoping the gods throw me a bone this week and 2 of Hodge, Houlihan, Petrenko and Hurley play, then Cooney is definitely in but otherwise I'm looking at 1-2 zeroes in the backs which will hurt my overall but I have a weak league opponent this week and the week after and I'm 4-0 136% so although not ideal can wear it.

Cooney is really inviting right now but geez need some luck... make or break decisions methinks, to attack and downgrade an already weak back line and get Cooney into a mediocre midfield, or go conservative and patch up the backline...

Thankful my premium backs are standing up and my forward line is basically set now barring injury, same with rucks.

What would you guy's do with this Midfield this week??

Dal Santo , Kornes , Salopek , Rich , Otten & Tuck (Ablett & Anthony)

All are only short term inj. so would be silly imo to trade any of them out but don't like the prospects of 2 dounuts in the midfield this week.

What to do.:confused::confused:

Interested in other peoples opinions. Here's my team, my situation. Any ideas or strategies?

I must say your midfield looks stuffed.

You need another gun premium badly IMO. How much money do you have spare and where are you ranked?

Selopek--> Cooney (+ ~170k), then Tuck--> Gibbs, Power, Goodes, or Black.

Done.

You've keeped Skippy this long. He would be due back in the next week or 2 and will make you more cash if you hold off

That's true, but the thing is I have other injuries in my fwd line now, so can't really afford another dohnut, considering I am playing two top of the table teams in 2 of my leagues.

The mistake I've made this year (or... one of the mistakes I've made this year) is that I selected too-strong a midfield.

Bartel-Judd-Selwood-Cross-Gibbs haven't really missed a beat. With Rich in as last midfielder, he's the only slot I've realistically got to upgrade. Which is annoying, because come finals time I *must* have GAJ (certainly another of my mistakes ). Therefore, Rich must become Ablett. Which means I can't take advantage of the many opportunities now presenting themselves with guys like Cooney available for cheap, etc.

Dammit.

Instead I'm looking to upgrade forwards, and the only ones delivery are either already in my team or >$600k.

The other thing going on in my squad is I still have Ottens. Yes, I am that one guy who still has Ottens. I shoved him on the pine and forgot all about him, allowing backups to work in tandem with the Coxman. Now it seems he's had further setbacks and might not be back until 2014. Any recommendations on bargain-priced star rucks? Or should I just ride out the Ottens thing?

Still, 4-0, 16 trades left, I'm gonna do damage in my league come finals time.
