I’ll just take you back to your weeks of incessant deriding of the team leading up to and including finals, last year insisting that we couldn’t “flick the switch” or win the flag.
You were so prolific and unabatting in this stance that it irritated many.
It was pointed out at the time that you lacked perspective, and I don’t think anything has changed.

How about we give Reef a decent block of senior games. Or…here’s a crazy idea, give him a shot in the middle. You know, the position we recruited him to play?

Since many would argue Reef isn’t working forward, why not give Carmichael a crack forward? He did it perfectly fine in 2022 and I didn’t see us give him a crack at it in 2023 (understandably to be fair). But the forward line needs something this season so why not give him a go?

Like, I watched that Coburg game. Not sure what Harrison did in that game to justify his selection that would then invalidate the selection of others from the same game.

Sullivan like Harrison was held over from the VFL last week as an emergency for today so he's clearly in the mind of McRae as an option and with Mitchell subbed out and Sidebottom, WHE and Crisp lucky not to have been in his place I'll be surprised if all 4 veterans are in the 22 next week.

Harrison is hungry for opportunity and has an energy about him. Sullivan has worked hard to earn his AFL opportunity and at 26 has the mature body to at least withstand the physicality of AFL from game 1. Only time and bit of experience at the highest level will tell us if he can manage the increased speed and talent on offer however.

Carmichael, Fin Macrae, Charlie Dean and Ash Johnson need to be either traded to whoever will take them or delist as they are not AFL standard and never will be

Harvey Harrison and Reef will make it and could come in, Sullivan also needs a chance to show if he’s up to it
Krueger would be a great player but forever injured

The rest I’m not sure on… Demattia we haven’t seen, Wil Parker played his first game last week, Ed Allan & Jiath need more time, Jakob Ryan looked good early but think he’s gone downhill since the concussion?
The rest are meh… so really only 2 kids and a mature aged recruit, maybe we throw DeMattia straight in there

as you said, Sullivan isnt a kid. Are you playing Fin & Reef ahead of Sidey & WHE this week? Not that I'd be 100% against that.

I’d personally be fine with Sidebottom out for Sullivan.

We’re still the oldest team on the park most weeks. Fly’s consistent message is that we’re a system/process first team.

As the reigning Premier, if our system can’t survive a couple of kids being exposed at the level then maybe we have bigger issues.

Sidey won't play 2 bad games like that in a row, and was ok in the last quarter.

Our problem is sometimes we're too daring and play on down the guts with silly handballs putting the receiver under pressure - DeGoey did it 3 times from memory.

System….by there very definition, break down if one component fails without a redundancy in place.

I.e playing kids who are not ready will break down our system.

Lobb got a lot more publicity and he has been playing in the VFL for a while. He only got recalled when Ugle Hagan was out for personal reasons. I'm sure there are other examples. There is no embarrassment in dropping a recruit who fails to deliver.
