One more rise from Flynn and then I will cull him for any 102k ruck.
Surely better off getting a RUCK/FWD in case you end up with Marshall in your forward line and one of Grundy/Gawn are missing 1 week
For added security, somebody like Comben makes sense for just over $20k more

Yes and no. You could for example trade Tex down to Treacy this week, then upgrade Flynn after one more game next week. Same number of trades, more $.
Yes, there's a lot of alternatives, this option though would have to be premised on Treacy playing .....otherwise your side is going to be in points defecit

Of course the strategy depends as well on whether you're playing for League or overall

I'd run around the block nude for 2 price rises from Flynn and High-no-more. :moustache: .
Highmore the one that hurts, has such earning potential on scoring, but honestly just don't see him getting back.
Would be awful to have to cull him at a net gain of zero dollarydos for bye clearance with his low BE.

At which point of the season do you just ignore non-scoring rookies on your def bench? I upgraded my D6 on the weekend and have Highmore & LJones on the bench offering zero cover ATM and there aren't any def cash cows with enough JS and/or scoring potential to warrant sidewaysing either to imo. If any of my starting defs were to get injured or suspended this far into the season I'd be more inclined to sideways to an equally good scorer with the right bye before using a trade on some cover that may not make much/any money or be of any use on-field again.

We'd be lucky. Best rookies this year are Powell and Jordon, both had some stumbling blocks and we are still waiting to cull them 8 rounds later.

IMO the thinking at the moment should be about warm bodies through the byes, not actual cash gen. If you want on-field value for your final team, it won't come from the rookies now but it might come from mid-pricers or fallen premo's.

Hopefully he will one of those warm bodies in the bye rounds.

Warners cash gen stalled after 6 games, poulter will get 7 before the bye and if pumps out 60s and 70s should be high 200s.

Poulter doesnt need to max out though, if he has made enough money to allow you do the trades that you want in R14 then it doesnt matter if he makes his peak value as he will be amongst the last upgrades you do, if you dont use him in R14 then you probably keep him the rest of the way which is not a bad option with his dpp.

Personally I hope I have Poulter the rest of the way and dont need to cash him out, but he will considered for the chopping block in R14 for sure.

Anyone bringing in Rowan Marshall this week? Looks the goods.

If Flynn dosen't play this week Marshall is in. If Flynn is named then I will wait another week just for the extra cash.

Really depends if you have enough cash cows elsewhere...

Going into the previous round, you could have easily upgraded Highmore to Frederick or N Murphy, both were likely to play and make money
How many DNP can you carry anyway?

Of course, things turned out bad for both of those rookies - but, you can't predict that - it's in the hands of the SC gods

Did anyone actually bring Tex in as a keeper? It was a pure cash play. There was no way he was going anywhere near a 90 av for the season from R3 when everyone brought him in. You have to jump off now.
Actually, we all should have jumped off after his four week block against bottom sides, which was everyone's plan to begin with then they bought him. It was just so hard to ignore the form he was in. Gotta stick to the strucutres instead of getting sucked in. Hindsight is easy I suppose.

I went early on LJones a few weeks back because I didn't like not having Def cover. That turned out well. :$

Ahhh - that's because he's playing in a good team.

If he played in a shit team - he'll go straight back in - e.g. Parks :p
Who I also went early and suffered the consequences!

Danihers going to overtake him in price this week.

Trade Tex up, not down ......there is zero rationale to keep him, he's back to the normal Tex you never thought you'd consider for SC

He'll lose another $40K this week, but trading down, without seeing your side ...on face value is not an option
This logic really doesn't make sense. Trade Tex down to a rookie - bank 300K, upgrade 2 rookies with the money.
3 trades and you have replaced Tex and 2 rookies with 2 premos and a rookie.

Trade Tex to a premo, 1 up/1 down 2 rookies. You've replaced Tex and 2 rookies with 2 premos and a rookie.
