When was it reported that English/Martin were out? Wed?
Begg was always playing either way, the moment he stepped out on the training track at 8:45 on Wed morning

Maybe so but surely that definitely removes any doubt if there was any. I would have selected Begg regardless. He’s getting hands on the ball a bit around the ground.

But sooner or later he will need a break. Whether that’s going back to the seconds or just moving out of the ruck role , time will tell.

It's not just Pie players though. I've noticed that over the past few weeks there's been numerous players from different clubs out due to illness. Seems unusual.
Was speaking to someone with connections at the Bombers, it’s a flu like virus and the players lose a lot of conditioning quickly.

Happy for Begg to get another opportunity coming up against Sweet, can continue to flourish in VFL games for mine.

He is doing a lot right and on that you can't drop him. Yeah he probably will need a break eventually, but until that or his form drops; then we persist, because it's gonna increase his development which will be good for him and us in the long term.
If he gets 10-12 games from 2022, then goes into 2023 with another pre-season under him, he'll definitely play a lot more next year.

As it stands, he has played more senior games in his first 18 months at the club than Lynch did in his first 3 years.

Happy to see Poulter back in the side. Madgen in for defensive cover, will allow Howe to play an intercept type role and Moore gets the job on Naughton.

Agree with a few others, would definitely look to play Sidebottom as a permanent forward tonight.

Feel like we need to play Begg as a target across half forward or for the kick down the line to compete... Mihochek can't do it on his own...

Would like to see Pendlebury, DeGoey and Adams start in the middle for the first bounce. Lipinski and J.Daicos on the wings.

How I hope to see us line up:

B - Quaynor Moore Madgen
HB - Maynard Howe Crisp
C - J.Daicos DeGoey Lipinski
HF - N.Daicos Begg Sidebottom
F - Henry Mihochek McCreery
R - Cameron Adams Pendlebury
INT - Noble T.Brown WHE Poulter

Hopefully Macrae gets the sub position.

I had said flu/gastro about 10 days ago and can confirm it’s 5 times worse than covid. Sickest I’ve been in years and an absolute demolition job on the porcelain. I couldn’t eat or drink anything for 2 days and passed out on the bathroom floor from nausea.

Took 6 days to recover and I lost 4 kegs. NFI how DeGoey even showed up last week considering.

Pray you don’t get it.

How would one go about catching this disease? Asking for a friend. :)

I wonder how much the inforced isolation of the last couple of years has diluted the herd immunity to things like flu and gastro.

Haha there are better weight loss regimes let me tell you. I caught it seeing some bands at the Bendigo Hotel. But if you’ve been there, gastro is probably one of the better things you’d catch.

Love the joint tho. Worth the explosive diarrhea to support live music.

Considering a "few" of the Bulldogs players have been in hospital during the week with the flu, maybe there could be a couple of late changes for them, or a few of their players might be struggling to reach their usual level of performance....

Was about to post that I was looking forward to seeing how Lipinski goes compared to Treloar. Then I remembered we're paying for both.
It’s an unfair comparison though. One cost us two first rounders and what, 800kish? One is pick 43. It’s like comparing kreuger to Tom Hawkins in terms of salary and cost

It could be a nasty flu season, given there's been hardly any for the last 2 years because of all the lockdowns, so it's worth getting a vaccine

Put it to you this way… older blokes that perform are worth persevering with for the most part

Now please don’t give me any nonsense about cox performing at AFL level… because he doesn’t

Therefore persevere with Begg cause he is the future

It’s not 🚀 science.

None of this is rocket science.

It's just a discussion. For example:

We should lost as many games as we can and get a low draft pick. It's not rocket science.

We should let DeGoey go because he costs too much money. It's not rocket science.

We should not claim that our opinion in a discussion is not rocket science when actually there are lots of things to weight up. It's not rocket science.

I asked: are we trying to make finals? Because if we are, there's an argument for Cox. If not, then Begs. But then again, we should probably drop Sidebottom for Macrae and Madgen for Kelly (when he's back).
