Let's not get carried away - I think Gault has earned a shot for the start of season because he is ahead of White and Cox, and most seem to think we can't play both of our first rucks in the same team, at least not yet.
I really hope that Gaulty can keep it up - I really do - although:
- his kicking for goal will have to be better than last week as he most likely won't get as many chances as Moore or Cloke in the season proper;
- he'll have to make a much better fist of it than last year
I know Gault has been in great form but he is a below average second ruck and I can't see him being that effective against AFL defenders. On the other hand, even if he plays bad Cox is a match up headache for opposition teams and also would be an awesome second ruck. He is already a better AFL player than Gault imo and he has so much more improvement left in him. It would be a tough call given the form Gault was in but I'd promote Cox.

Anyone know if these guys played in the scratch match?: Greenwood, Grundy, Macaffer

I hear you, and have little doubt that Cox will be the better long-term prospect, but Gault is really showing some decent form as a forward right now, as you say.

Here's the closest thing we have to an updated injury list as I couldn't find one on our own site.

With Reidy looking a chance to get up, we may start the season with just 2 or 3 on the list.

Player
- Injury - Estimated Return
Jamie Elliott - Back - Indefinite
Tyson Goldsack - Knee tendinitis - Test
Jeremy Howe - Finger and foot - Test
Brent Macaffer - Calf - TBC
Ben Reid - Calf - Test
Matt Scharenberg - Knee - Season
