Re: Round 14 Trades

what the **** do I do with Adcock?

traded him into my side in rd10.

churns out three shit scores, then gets injured.

they say he'll miss at least the next two and the Lions have another bye to come.

do I just cut my losses, get Strauss/Lisle/Golby, and upgrade elsewhere?

not an ideal result but I have currently got...

... Gibbs, Deledio, Fisher, Goddard, Shaw, Heppell, Martin, Hibberd, Jacobs and Toy all available to rotate through my backline? (got Jamie Cripps too but he hasn't gone up in price and is cooked for the year, no trade value IMO)

Re: Round 14 Trades

Well if you are comfortable with holding a fella like Bailey who has had two complete knee recos and played less than a dozen games of football. Good luck. The opposition will definitely run him around and make sure it's healed. That's footy.

With Sandi more than likely coming back this week, yeah I'm quite comfy. If Sandi was out for the season I wouldn't have made the trade. As it stands I gained enough cash to lose a bad backline player and get Fisher which I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise, and once Sandi returns there's a good chance I'll have 2 backup playing ruckmen, which would put me in a better position than than the "downgrade to a non-playing spud" idea you had a few posts ago. Weighing up risks and rewards is what this game is all about.

As a word of advice, you're not going to win any friends around here when you make a first post asking for advice and then follow it up by biting back at someone who tries to help you out ;)

I'm in the same boat, got sucked in after his great scores. I'm holding onto him as I've only got 7 trades left. He is a chance to return in 1-2 weeks I've read. All depends on how many trades you have left.

Why dont you just trade Heppell for premium mid and Gibbs to Shaw?

Why dont you just trade Heppell for premium mid and Gibbs to Shaw?

Yeah well depending on cash you could go Heppell -> Gaz or Heppell to -> Swan and then Gibbs -> Shaw, sounds like a good option to me.

FWIW (in case anyone missed it) if you're tossing up between a Collingwood or GC player or anyone else go the Coll/GC option as they have no more byes at all.

Adelaide, Freo, Melbourne, Bris, Tiges and Sydney all have another bye but they are in non league play weeks so they are ok if you just want to win your league. The rest all have a bye to go still in league play so be careful with them, and obviously North, Geelong, Carlton and Essendon have finals byes so trade them in at your peril.

My team is below, any suggestions? I'm thinking of trading Bartel -> Swan this week and downgrading Riewoldt to Dahlhaus to free up cash to upgrade Gaff to a prem midfielder next week.

Backs: Deledio, Gibbs, Shaw, Heppell, Broughton, Puopolo, Otten (Goddard, Petersen, Strauss)
Mids: Pendlebury, Judd, Goodes, Bartel, Pavlich, Smith (Gaff, Polec, Callinan)
Fwds: Fyfe, Sylvia, Petrie, Chapman, Higgins, Didak, Mzungu (Franklin, Riewoldt, Richardson)
Rucks: Cox, Smith, Bailey, Redden

I wouldn't be too hastey Offloading Riewoldt, hasn't been horrible for his price tag before last week. Bartel to Swan seems logical though.

As much as i love the kid, for my team, It's Heppell's time to go.

With a tad over 50K in the kitty, Rawlings comes into calculations.

- It would only cost me 1 trade, and with the amount I have left, trades are gold.
- Team would be complete.
- was 470K, now dropped 86K, averaging 95 in last 5, 104 in last 3.

Team would then read:

Backs: B.Delideo, B.Gibbs, H.Shaw, C.Enright, G.Broughton, B.Goddard, B.Rawlings. (J.Strauss, S.McKernan, B.Jacobs)
Mids: M.Murphy, M.Priddis, S.Thompson, B.Moloney, D.Swan, J.Selwood. (M.Hibberd, M.Wallis, I.Callinan)
Rucks: A.Sandilands, D.Cox. (J.Tippett, L.Keefe)
Fwds: B.Harvey, N.Fyfe, A.Goodes, D.Petrie, P.Chapman, L.Franklin, N.Riewoldt. (T.Mzungu, I.Smith, T.Lynch)

Didn't go for Rawlings pre-season due to his price tag but is he even worth the punt now? Or am I dreaming just trying for a quick fix to finish my team?

Re: Round 14 Trades

My team is:
DEF: Deledio, Newman, Gibbs, Goddard, Gilbee, Heppell, Pedersen (Hibberd, Puopolo, Toy)
MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Boyd, Priddis, Mitchell, D. Swallow (Mzungu, Jacobs, Callinan)
RUC: Cox, Sandilands (J. Tippet, Keeffe)
FWD: Franklin, Pavlich, Fyfe, Chapman, Goodes, Petrie, N. Riewoldt (Darling, Lynch, McKernan)

And I have $511,700 in the salary cap along with 6 trades left.

What are you guys thoughts on what I should do this round?
Thanks :)

Id go Heppell to Shaw because of Heppell's breakeven and because Shaw has no more byes.
