Re: Round 9 - Trades

Gone Martin > Dal Santo
Trengove > Montagna.

Thought about bringing in Murphy/Gibbs/Carazzo/Cooney and pocketing some cash, or Gilbee, but decided against it in the end.

I guess time will tell.
Had no St. Kilda players previously, and I guess it will make their games slightly more interesting now.

Midfield is now Ablett, Montagna, Dal Santo, Barlow, Pendlebury, Judd (Howlett, Rohan)

Forward line Chapman, Pavlich, Brown, O'Keefe, Harvey, Franklin, Pods (Gumby, Fyfe)

Backline is where the trouble really starts : Hodge, Goddard, Grimes, Hunt, Kennelly, Waters, Maguire (Schmidt, Silvagni). Though will probably play Schmidt instead of Hunt this week.

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Do you think Mitch Duncan -> Pods is a wasted trade?

Current FWD line:
Brown, Chapman, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Waite, Byrnes, Peterson, Rockliff, Duncan

Buddy will NOT be more consistent.
Steve J declared 3 weeks back that he is now 100% after struggling so long with hip injury. His scores from that point on (and prior to Rd 12 last year) are excellent. Just hope there is no recurrence.

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Team currently stands as follows:

BACKS: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Shaw, Gram, Hargrave, Maguire (Silvagni, Davis)

MIDFIELD: Ablett, Selwood, Cooney,Mitchell, Barlow, Martin (Howlett, Kayler-Thomson)

RUCKS: Kreuzer, Hille (Warnock, Bass)

FORWARDS: Pavlich, Didak, O'Keefe, Franklin, S Johnson, Gray, Podsiadly (Hitchock, Hughes)

10 trades left, $193,200 in bank

Need help guys, really not sure what to do from here...I obviously have to get rid of the injured Gram yet at the same time I really want to move Martin on and bring in the Juddman.

I'm thinking of going:

This week:
Gram--->Sam Fisher
Silvagni --->Webberly

Next week:
Martin--->Judd

This will leave me with 7 traded remaining after rd 10 which I will plan to hold onto for a while.

Is this a good trading strategy? or would you guys be inclined to trade Gram out for a superback premium e.g. Gilbee, Malceski, Hurn?

Cheers guys

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Well, pulled the trigger in the end and wanted Judd too badly so went...

Gram ---> Webberley
Martin---> Judd

Leaves me with a healthy $222,600

Will have Silvagni play as D7 this week

Next week will go Silvagni ---> Defender approx $480k - will look for a Fisher, Carrazzo, or any other premium defenders that may have dropped a fair bit to that price (possibly Gilbee/Hurn if they have bad games (heres hoping))...

After rd 10 will leave me with 7 trades which I will be sitting on for a while

Re: Round 9 - Trades

For those that don't have the jpod is it too late to jump on and would you regard him as a keeper?

Thinking of goin medhurst to he jpod?

Thoughts?

I just ditched Mitch Duncan for jPod.

Got rid of Medhurst a few weeks ago.

Worst case scenario, you earn $100k with jPod, with potential to be F7.

Re: Round 9 - Trades

If i trade out Gram i have 491k to spend, so i have some tough choices, really need to bring in premium for him

my backline stands at Hodge, Goodard, Enright, Malceski Waters, Maguire, Gram (Davis and Robertson)

so any advice will be great in who i should get.

you could trade for kennelly he has been very consistent this year and you will have 85 left over to spend on your next trade, chad cornes is about 450k and has been scoring consistently above 100 in the last 4 weeks

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Im looking to improve my team. Any suggestions?

I downgraded Hunt for Webberley and now have 350k in the bank with 10 trades to go.

So im thinking what if i make my midfield even better to make up for the crappy forward line. I have Trengrove so could sell him and upgrade to Dal Santo which will leave me 200k to use for upgrades next week in my forward line.

My Midfield would then be
Ablett, Goddard, Barlow, Selwood, Judd, Dal Santo (Martin, Moles) which looks pretty impressive and capable of scoring 800 plus points a round.

My forward line is still the problem though,

Gia, Goodes, Hall, Podsiadly, Rioli, Franklin, Fyfe, (Rockliff, Hitchcock)

I think I might leave it alone for one more week then upgrade Rioli

Any ideas?

Re: Round 9 - Trades

My current line up is

Hodge Goodard Enright Shaw Kennelly Waters Goose (Nason Davis)
Ablett Barlow Cooney Judd Trengrove Martin (Ladson Howlett)
Sandi Hille (Warnock Lobbe)
Pav Brown ROK Pods Franklin Dangerfield Tippett (Gumby Medhurst)

14 trades and 163k in bank.

Most obvious problems are in bold... cant believe I held onto Dangerfield and Tippett.

Was considering

A) Trengrove?Ladson-> Goodes then downgrade Ladson/Trengrove to Rohan(JS?)
B) Downgrade Medhurst to Watts/Rohan then upgrade Trengrove/Ladson
C) Common trade this week and downgrade Nason to Webberly/Sheppard then upgrade more next week.
D) Other

Really not sure what to do but the obviously mvp benefit of bringing in Goodes/Rohan in allows me to move Dangerfield around and upgrade him later:confused::(

Any thoughts?

Re: Round 9 - Trades

B) Just depends on what the upgrade would be
My dillema is who and what to do;

Backs - Nason / Silvagni. Have them currently D7&8 with Bower injured unsure if I want to upgrade or downgrade them to Webberly/Sheppard. Backs are scoring about 800 a week so its not a real problema area.

Mids - Bastinac / Lucas. If I downgrade elsewhere upgrade either of these. Currently M6&7

Forwards - Ballantyne / Rockcliff. Opposite to what I do with the backline option.

Got $230K in the bank so what is the better option:

1) Upgrade down back (Nason/Silvagni) and downgrade (Ballantyne/Rockcliff) or;
2) Downgrade down back (Nason/Silvagni) and upgrade (Ballantyne/Rockcliff) or;
3) Downgrade either and pick up a gun midfielder

Hodge Goodard Enright Shaw Kennelly Waters Goose (Nason Davis)
Ablett Barlow Cooney Judd Trengrove Martin (Ladson Howlett)
Sandi Hille (Warnock Lobbe)
Pav Brown ROK Pods Franklin Dangerfield Tippett (Gumby Medhurst)

14 trades and 163k in bank

Or should I just cut my losses and go
Tippett > Goodes/other fallen premium
Ladson/Trengrove > Rohan

Then next week I can MVP Danger to the midfield and put Medhurst on field.

Would leave me with

Midfield: Ablett Barlow Cooney Judd Dangerfield Martin
(Trengrove/Ladson Howlett)

Forward: Pavlich Brown ROK Pods Franklin Goodes Medhurst
(Gumby Rohan)

Benefits - Strong forward line MVP flexibility and room to upgrade midfield next week.

I think downgrading Nason is a safe option. Then its just a matter of which position needs to improve the most.

On your response to my options - Do you think I should persist with Tippett over Medhurst? Really not sure what to do first:eek:

I jumped off the Tippett bandwagon late-ish and still think he may turn it around. As for Medhurst I never jumped on to begin with.

Narrowed it down to: Silvagni>Sheppard & (Bastinac>Swan or Ballantyne>Chapman)

Re: Round 9 - Trades

With about $260,000 in the bank (after downgrading Nason-Webberly) I'm trying to decide which upgrade should be done this week...

Option 1:
Hille - Cox
(Other ruck is Kruez)

Option 2:
Ballantyne - Franklin/Harvey/Didak (which one?!?)

The one I don't do this week I'll probably try and do in the next couple of weeks so what does everyone reckon?!

Leaning towards the Balla upgrade but then I'm stumped trying to work out who to bring in!

Help..

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Is goddard a must have ?

Thinking of going Silvagni - Webberley

and upgrading gram to goddard

Leaves my team as

Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Malceski, Kelly, Waters, Maguire (Davis,Webb)
Ablett, Swan, Judd, Selwood, Dalsanto, Barlow (Basti,Shuey)
Natinui, Hille (Trengove, Warnock)
ROK, Brown, Pavlich, Harvey, Hall, Pods, Fyfe (Gumble, Relton)

after these trades, il have 10 to go with 140k

Dids for me...hes doing well..consistency isnt bad...no shockers in there...hes not getting tagged out of the game this year because there is no real one dangerous players for the pies this year...
Buddy will get best defender...hawks are not the best this year..
Harvey i like...but he will go missing against the big teams i reckon...
Just my two cents..

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Martin --> Rohan
Nason --> Webberly

Free up some $$$ and make some upgrades next week

After todays trades will have 10 trades and $426,200 in the bank

Rolled the dice last week and picked up Hughes (Melb) for Hall, now hes been dropped so hes stuck on two games.

I don't think goddard is a must have but with the strength of ur side i think hed be a very good in, i think after that the only upgrade that would be needed would be fyfe.

My problem is im gettin rid of bob murphy and have 502K to spend
my forwards are Pav Brown ROK Buddy Rioli JPod Murph (gumby Rocky)
Im leaning towards Goodes(cant get any worse) or Boomer(think hes set for a big second 1/2) but am open to others, Thoughts?

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Free up some $$$ and make some upgrades next week

Might do the same this week and just go
Ladson > Rohan
Nason > Sheppard

I will just hope Tippett gets his break even and Medhurst returns next week. Then I will upgrade next week:eek:

Re: Round 9 - Trades

Goodes still has the 27 (IIRC) affecting his price so he will probably go down this week unless he can get his BE of 120ish. I was considering bringing him in but decided to wait a week.

Boomer could be the best option

Plus he was on the footy show this week... NDS and Hall were on last week and they had huge games:rolleyes:

Re: Round 9 - Trades

I've only got $1,100 in the bank, but have to trade out Gram because he's injured. Only 9 trades left but my team is nearly there, apart from one forward upgrade.

Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Gilbee, Malceski, Shaw, Hunt (Nason,Roberton)
GAJ, Montagna, Bartel, Cooney, Barlow, GRAM (Shuey,JKT)
Sandilands, NicNat (Warnock, $77k)
Brown, Pav, Gia, ROK, Goodes, Pods, Fyfe (Rockliff,TDL)

Was about to do:

OPTION 1)
Hunt -> Webberley and then Gram -> Judd + $44k

but got cold feet because it means I'd have to start Nason though. Now instead I'm considering:

OPTION 2)
Nason -> Webberley and then Gram -> Swan + $1k

Means I could keep Hunt starting.

OPTION 3)
I could also do Hunt > Webberley and then Gram > Swan and pocket $76k.

Leaving me $76k for a vital upgrade late in the season. Obviously after this I can really only make 1 more trade and have to keep the rest for LTI.

Any thoughts? I can't decide whether Judd is worth $30k more than Swan and worth giving up Hunt starting over Nason.
