Yes it was Mobbs this time delivering Silver for the Roys in the Long Jump. Mooch however didn't progress out of the qualifying heats.

3KZ is Football made it to the final of the Sailing, unfortunately he finished 4th just missing a medal.

Ed_Gein, royboy2, Mooch & TheGoatBaron finished 7th in the Team Pursuit.

Next up, we have Cricket? 🤷‍♂️ Ed_Gein & fitzroybowiedog in the sport Climbing & in the 3KZ is Football skateboarding

Barrels Award - S38R02 (Las Vegas Bears)​


In our loss to the Bears, 5 players featured in the Barrels voting this week. Sneaking in for a vote was CountryLad , and also receiving a couple of votes was tony .
In third place was JoshWoodenSpoon and in 2nd place Cap .
But clearly out in front, the prize for the Barrels Award for Round 2 goes to Millky95 .

Congrats Millky! enjoy your barrel :)

Roys Sweet Olympic Update - Day 12

Despite my surprise at cricket being in the games, Mobbs, TheGoatBaron, royboy2, Phar Ace, Ed_Gein, JackNah_8, 3kzisfootball, fitzroybowiedog, DERRINALPHIL, Mooch and yes even tigs2010 won the Roys Bronze with the only game we lost being the semi final to get into the gold medal match.

Ed_Gein & fitzroybowiedog were eliminated in the 2nd round of the sport Climbing & in the skateboarding 3KZ is Football failed to make the final.

Apparently there was also a baseball event where the roys only lost the one game (of course that was tigs2010 fault) but failed to make it out of the group stage.

Next up we have JackNah_8 in the Breaking and royboy2 in the Javelin
 
Roys Sweet Olympic Update - Day 13&14?
Somehow I've missed a day, however this gets us up to date.

Our 4×100m running relay team of DERRINALPHIL, tigs2010, royboy2 & Mobbs made the final and finished 4th 😡

Mobbs & TheGoatBaron looked amazing in their leotards when competing in the Artistic Gymnastics, Mobbs was eliminated early and TheGoatBaron made the final and finished 7th

Apparently JackNah_8, Eat Fresh & royboy2 competed in the Artistic Swimming, but the less said about that the better. Gorillas clearly can't swim and we finished last.

In the Breaking? Yeah, I've seen it now and still have nfi what it is. However JackNah_8 AKA JackAttack_8 made it through the group stages only to be eliminated in the Quarter final.

And some flog called royboy2 won gold in the Javelin.

Up next 3KZ is Football does the very common double of Weightlifting & Taekwondo, our Football team takes the park (we have a cricket team so I guess its the same 11) and Mobbs & JackNah_8 don their bikinis for the Beach Volleyball.
 
Roys Sweet Olympic Update - Day 15

Mobbs & JackNah_8 lost every game of the Beach Volleyball, and finished last in the group.

Our Football team had 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw and failed to progress from the group stage.

3KZ is Football was eliminated in the first round of the Taekwondo, however bounced back to take gold in the Weightlifting.
I'm told his clean and jerk (or is that the other way around?) was ok, but his snatch was very impressive.

The final day of the Sweet Olympics is rounded out with Mobbs, Eat Fresh & reigning olympic champion fitzroybowiedog competing in the Marathon, Phar Ace & tigs2010 in the Modern Pentathlon, Indoor Volleyball & 5x5 Basketball

    OK so this was a pretty good game*. Neck and neck all the way. Impossible to separate the teams. Kick for kick. Goal for goal. Everyone loves a close match right? Usual suspects dominated the entire game* like DERRINALPHIL with his 18 hitouts, fitzroybowiedog with 16 touches and an incredible 10 tackles (royboy2 could only manage 8 this week), TheGoatBaron with 4 goals for the game* (plus a number of not-goals as it turned out), HinkleysHeroes carrying on his good early form with 3 goals Dicky Fitzwell and judge judy with a couple each. SpecialBruce and Phar Ace had 22 touches each for the game*.

    * for the purpose of this report, 1 'game' consists of three time-boxed periods of play.

    It's still early days but we're already seeing some very good stats from our squad. SpecialBruce and royboy2 just keep on carrying on from their achievements of S37, and Phar Ace is snapping at pushing hard behind them. Well they will insist on trying to get that old '68 Kingswood started. TheGoatBaron has a very healthy GPG ratio of almost 5, which is impressive. Eat Fresh is the only member of the squad yet to take the field but with teammates dropping like flies in the last week or so, let's see if he gets a chance to stamp on his opponent his mark on the game next week.

    Thank you for the week last week.

    I, cats2rise, am providing a travelling qricket series throughout S38 by way of offering the team with the bye either a) an intra-club qricket match (XI vs XI), or a Roys XI vs MBD XI to be held in your team thread.

    If you do indeed seek for some jovial entertainment during the bye week, I would kindly ask for your 2 x intra-club XIs (or Roys XI) to be posted here by no later than Wednesday afternoon/evening, for a game (either 50 over or 5 day match - your choice) to be posted on Thursday/Friday.

    For the uninitiated, each player has a player type that will need to be selected (batter, keeper, bowler, all-rounder, bowling all-rounder, batting all-rounder) whilst I will do the rest via the qricket sim!
