On the Greg Lynn committal proceedings Crown Prosecutor Mr Dickie said 'It is clear hopefully from the document, and if it's not clear from the document it's clear hopefully from the charges put before the court, that it is alleged of course that the accused acted with murderous intent when he allegedly killed the two victims.'

I absolutely agree. Not as if sleeping bags are hermetically-sealed/leak-proof. Plus they can be slippery. The perp doesn't look like any sort of iron-man either and two older adults, recently dead, would weigh a ton. Lucky the perp didn't have a heart-attack while trying to get them into RH vehicle or a trailer

plus, someone said earlier -- whether or not true -- that the RH vehicle rear wasn't designed to transport two dead, adult bodies. And would the RH vehicle cab be any better (the Weekend at Bernie's comments earlier in the thread)

Not to mention the possibility that someone could enter the campground while the perp was using the RH vehicle to transport the bodies (outside possibility but still a possibility). Let's say a hiker stumbled into that campground, exhausted after becoming lost earlier, and simply tossed a tarp on the ground in the shadow of trees. What would they make of someone arriving in RH vehicle, burning down a tent and tossing everything into it, only to take off in the perp's blue vehicle?

Anyway, if the perp had used the RH vehicle to transport the bodies, that vehicle would have been a goldmine for investigators. Evidence galore, including the perp's dna. Because in the dark, in a panic, I don't believe the perp would painstakingly manage to remove every trace. And despite that police returned RH's vehicle to his home initially (before seizing it again after a week or so) they would have found evidence (and blood) of not only RH and CC, but also perp's dna and/or fingerprints. Which would have ruled out the searches for the missing couple back when it was believed they could still be alive but lost in bushland

thats 100% correct. The cruiser is a single cab vehicle with one of those set ups to store and compartmentalise all of the gear. Plus it was no doubt forensically tested early on and the police were still not treating it as a homicide at that time.

No offence, but I don't believe that ( I realise you're citing verbatim and it's not your personal opinion)
None taken. Without an inside source, the media reports are all we have to go on though. What makes you question this?

Last heard 20th, burn out 21st ? Police the next/same day, then decided no foul play ? Inoticed in imho map the times on flags, i may be way behind but this reporting seems familiar, not to keep in with being on whatever track i am on, but, this was when the usb cab situation was reported ?

Asking everyone of course.

It was 6-7 days before Police knew of the incident. Refer Sixty Minutes Video in the above threads

From memory, a member of police was quoted as saying something to the effect he'd felt that personally returning RH's vehicle to his home was a compassionate act. This is when the media reported the vehicle was seized by police later. I remember seeing a photo in the media of RH's vehicle outside his home, along with media reporting that RH's wife said she'd already disposed of the majority of his possessions and there was only his radio gear still to be sold/given away

Stuff-ups happen, we know that. But it must have been salt in the wound for RH's wife when she opened RH's returned vehicle to find CC's clothing and other possessions inside

in which case, if it had already been forensically analysed WHY did they decide they needed it back?

was it because they'd since ruled in foul play and simply needed to possess the vehicle to add to their collective of crime scene evidence?

or was it reclaimed for a more extensive investigation/analysis ???

imho
this report was from 21 April so it isn't clear if this is referring to the period prior to returning it to his home or the second go-over.

Time, for a start

They had RH's vehicle back in front of his house very swiftly. I remember seeing photos of it

Then it was seized by police

So Time again -- not to mention the time necessary to conduct a thorough forensic analysis and the position RH's vehicle held in what was doubtless a long list of vehicles awaiting forensic examination (single, multiple vehicle accidents, potential deliberate crashes/suicides, and more)

So, I don't believe RH's vehicle was subjected to forensic examination between the time of it being located by police at the campsite and the return of it to RH's house

Anyone on to this hunting angle? Not saying Lynn was necessarily hunting illegally but it’s creepy AF some of the things that go on up there when it comes to deer hunting.
I did initially suspect it may have been a hunting accident, but quickly decided that gunshots in that neck of the woods would have stood out in that time period. Unless of course it was a crossbow. But the murder charges seem to have definitely ruled out any accident.

Fair call. I can't see his wife cleaning it to the point of eradicating DNA evidence though. They pulled it back in about a week later didn't they?

not so much a stray or that but there are very clear rules about what time you need to knock off hunting. From memory it’s 30 mins before sunset. What if the drone is up and here is Lynn walking back into camp with a trophy outside of those hours. The musterer Lachy said on arrival to camp there were that many deer carcasses he lost count.

is someone taking the piss? 😂
Haha could be! Interestingly enough, there was a couple in the valley just last weekend, who were driving a blue Nissan Patrol same vintage who related having copped loads of comments about their car....little did they know that they were actually parked right at the RH/CC campsite. Reports suggest they were somewhat taken aback! as you would be...

That's potentially a critical stuff-up if they've returned it and RH's wife has disposed of contents of the car (not blaming her btw, as you say, rubbing salt in the wound if the case). If the perp handled anything in the back of RH's vehicle (unlikely but you never know, looking in tool box for rope or gaffer tape or something to tie up bodies in a sleeping bag) and wife has then sold tool box (or whatever), oops!

Yeah there was a theory early on that the drone may have captured something illegal. Plausible.

Depends on her state of mind. If she wanted to eradicate any traces of CC, and perp only touched a couple of things - but my assumption would be once she found out about the affair she probably wouldn't want to touch it all. Hard to rationalise what someone would do in that situation - which is what I just tried to do!!! So basically, what would I know?! :D

no phones or drones. He’s definitely had his wits about him getting rid of evidence. Don’t think the drunk accidentally drove over the tent theory holds much water TBH.

She was reported to have only started packing up all his radio gear. It would be awful though if she has disposed of something unknowingly that might hold airtight evidence.

Big step to go from copping a potential fine because someone spotted you killing deer to actually killing them as well. GL's state of mind and any confrontation between GL and RH then comes into play - which I suspect will be the ultimate determinants in most scenarios proposed on here.

Still, as someone posted earlier, loving the discussion. (If only footy forums were like this on BF!)

Yep, around a week. Which was fortunate from a forensic point of view imo

No, never any suggestion Mrs RH got stuck in with the Gumption paste. She had enough on her plate. In the photos, it was just sitting there on the nature-strip, from memory

I’ve seen older white guys punch on at the footy over the most trivial stuff. Usually with a skinful granted. Maybe they were two blokes who didn’t take a backward step on anything? I just thought it was an interesting observation by the musterer

I’m not ….

I reckon Hill was pissed that some one was in his camping spot that he had staked!! . probably even asked Lynn to move because he was on his own and Hill was trying to impress Carol…Hill sayiNg he was there first … May have even set up his Tarp to claim the spot, which Lynn took down.. Heated discussions .. Hill retreats to the shit spot… Lynn’s and Hills anger brews … Then Hill brings out the Drone… pissess off Lynn… Lynn confronts Hill about “rules” !!! Illegal Drone flying … two dickheads end up in a fight .. or Lynn pulls out a weapon ? Which I doubt .. a struggle happens … Carol is hysterical .. she shouldn’t be there with Hill!!! .. Lynn kills the witness.

scene out of Fargo the most plausible explanation 👍

We read different media reports, then. Because the one I read said she had said that she'd disposed of all his stuff with only the radio stuff left
It shocked me at the time. Maybe different if I'd heard her say it in person, but in print it sounded a bit cold. No judgement right, so later I decided she's just a pragmatic woman. In that same media piece, from memory, she stated she'd known he wouldn't becoming back once she'd learned he hadn't been heard on radio. Maybe she'd sensed it, too. Long marriage

By his stuff and disposal, I took it to mean his clothes, odds and sods etc. And they'd have no evidentiary value as far as his then disappearance, now murder investigation. Unless he'd kept a diary and had noted some fracas with a pilot when out camping (not serious)

yeah that sounds more plausible. I’m down a rabbit hole now with all the weird shit that goes on up there with the deer hunting. It’s a disgrace.
