Funny you say that, currently mulling over an offer from a renewables company that sounds pretty interesting, but not really the career progression I'm after, waiting to hear back about interviews at another company plus have my performance review at the current joint tomorrow. They've indicated they want to keep me around and might have a new role available to try to entice me to stay so it's a bit of a tricky spot at the moment decision-wise.

I'd say go for the opportunity which excites you more. Motivation is important and who knows what opportunities might come up in the future. Tt sounds like tomorrow will make things clear in relation to your current job either way so perhaps this new role may offer you what you want!
