The Bombers seem up and about right now. Clearly they miss being the centre of attention when it comes to incompetence.

The Bombers recently made a squad amendment following Sun Ra's departure (see above).

The squad has been updated, but something appears to be missing:

View attachment 1820854

Sun Ra's name seems curiously absent from the list of OUTs.

As per the rules:

SEC [4]. SQUAD MANAGEMENT/PLAYER MOVEMENT

4B) Squad Changes

Any changes to the previous season's final squad must be listed in the current season's initial squad submission denoting the additions as "INs" and subtractions as "OUTs".

If a change is required to a team list for any addition or subtraction it must be noted in a post in the current season's squad submission thread.

The change must include alteration to the player list, and the list of any additions ("Ins") and subtractions ("Outs")

The initial squad submission must be altered (preferred) or re-posted (if original poster unavailable) to reflect these changes.

Squad changes are considered complete once both of these above actions have been carried out.

Any players involved in squad changes are unable to be named in a team sheet for the new team until a valid change has been completed.

Any players that have closed or permanently banned accounts are not considered to be active and therefore those players must be removed from the submitted squad and the squad minimum criteria must still be met.

A player may only have one account as a listed player in the Sweet FA. No aliases allowed. A minimum 8 game suspension applies for a breach. Alias accounts may be used in a joking manner in media and match threads only, any alias accounts posting in a sign up thread will be considered a breach.

Failure to adhere to these Rules will be punished under Sec[6] of these Rules, as determined by the Administrator.

SEC [6]. PENALTIES

The Administrator shall apply the following penalties for breaches of the Rules under Sections 4 and 5 as above.

6A) Major Offence

The following list of offences will result in a 4 point plus a 2-game suspension for the captain (if there are multiple captains at a club, the captain of the offending club will be randomly selected for suspension) in league standings:
  • Failing to submit a valid initial squad in the squad submission thread by deadline as per 4A
  • Failing to satisfy the minimum initial squad list requirement (22 eligible players) as per 4A
  • Failing to satisfy the minimum team list requirement in season (20 eligible players) as per 4A
  • Failure to submit a complete team sheet in the submission thread by the deadline as per 5A
  • Editing the team sheet after team sheet deadline as per 5A
  • Deliberately hindering the simulation team through disregard of 5A, 5B and/or 5C.
  • Deliberately naming a player that is deemed ineligible as per 5B
6B) Minor Offence

The following list of offences will result in a Strike under a 'Three-Strike Policy'. Which is outlined below:

1. Official Warning
2. 1-game suspension to the captain, if there are multiple captains at a club, the captain of the offending club will be randomly selected for suspension.
3. 2 point deduction, plus a 2-game suspension for the captain (if there are multiple captains at a club, the captain of the offending club will be randomly selected for suspension)
  • Failing to satisfy the maximum squad list requirement in season (30 eligible players) as per 4A
  • Incorrect squad changes as per 4B
  • Incorrect player signing as per 4C and 4D
  • Naming an ineligible player on a team sheet as per 5B
  • Incorrect spelling of player names in a team sheet as per 5A
  • Incorrect team sheet formatting as per 5A
  • Any post in the squad submission thread notifying a squad change that did not occur as per 4A & 4B

Read the rules again, Numbnuts, then hit yourself with the book.

No offence has been committed, despite our best efforts.

This all checks out, at the time of the change to the squad, Monday 6:05am the Bombers did not include the change in the listed outs.

The Baghdad Bombers have been issued an official warning for Strike 1 under 6B.

Pugsley please correct the squad list OUTS.

It should look like this:

OUTS - burningdwarf (Delisted), Citroin (Delisted), Dadda Dave (Delisted), LicoriceAllsorts (Delisted), Sun Ra (permabanned)

Are we that desperate to find a reason to ban the Bombers we now take a random time stamp from cereal_vanilla during a squad change as “proof” of wrongdoing, and ignore the wording of the rules?

The Baghdad Bombers will be appealing this gross overreach unless the charge is withdrawn by 5.00pm EDST tonight.

This is why you'd be a shit admin. Take off your rose coloured glasses you fool.

Don't play the victim Jabbsy. It's not the Bombers. Please.

I wasn't even here for our latest **** up, but caught is caught. This offence costs you nothing. Don't be a cry baby about it.

Don't get bitter, get better. We need to accept we're in an era where the hawks are watching.

As I said in my interview with Tonga, in a different time, the rules were applied just as strictly, BUT there was a general "look out for each other" vibe going on. That no longer exists.

The vulture-circling era does not seem an improvement for the general SFA, except for the vultures.

Rules are necessary, if only to make simmers lives easier. We (OOB) clearly need to "get better" with the letter of the law, but the abject glee with which some vultures treat violations is far from laudable.

Will explain the overreach if they cannot work it out for themselves by 5.00pm tonight.

I understand what you are saying, hoping it doesn’t mean we should just roll over and take whatever invented punishments are handed out at the whim of those in charge.

We believe the rule has not been breached and therefore the penalty announced is both incorrect and undeserved.

And let's be honest what does not putting a player down as a delisting on the team submission thread really do to harm anyone ? when they did take him off their team list.

The Bombers never think a rule has been breached though. Just what do you guys prefer, anarchy?

Oh, you misunderstand voting not to impose a punitive punishment for minor mistakes and indiscretions with not agreeing a rule has been breached.

This is the second one, not the first. The punishments we voted against for the OOBs captain were the first one, not the second and also the second one and not the first.

Hope that helps and you’re welcome.

In answer to your other question Smashed Avo we do not prefer anarchy which is why we are fighting back against this indiscriminate application of rules incorrectly and the associated punitive punishments.

A league where the rules were enforced correctly and without fear or favour would be a vast improvement that we would get behind 100%

Is it 5pm yet?

Yep.

Doesn't look like there is going to be a concession, I'm off to visit the Governor General.

So you didn’t have your appeal ready for 5pm?

F**** joke of a club, can’t even organise an appeal correctly mate

Kennedy Parker I refer to the infraction listed above and the penalty that has been incorrectly applied.

There was no breach of the current rules as they are written as follows:

4B) Squad Changes

Any changes to the previous season's final squad must be listed in the current season's initial squad submission denoting the additions as "INs" and subtractions as "OUTs".

This has been done, as evidenced by our current squad listing. No dispute there.

If a change is required to a team list for any addition or subtraction it must be noted in a post in the current season's squad submission thread.

Which we have done. A big tick for us again.

The change must include alteration to the player list, and the list of any additions ("Ins") and subtractions ("Outs")

Which we have done. Another criteria met.

The initial squad submission must be altered (preferred) or re-posted (if original poster unavailable) to reflect these changes.

We used the initial post and altered that, as is the preferred method. Once again complied with the rules.

Squad changes are considered complete once both of these above actions have been carried out.

And here we seemed to have reached the point of contention. The squad change is only considered complete when the (in this case) permanently banned player is removed from the list and also noted as an out. This is further addressed below.

Any players that have closed or permanently banned accounts are not considered to be active and therefore those players must be removed from the submitted squad and the squad minimum criteria must still be met.

As you noted yourself, Sun Ra was removed from our submitted squad and we still meet the minimum number of eligible players for this season. Once again, within the rules.

So the only point of contention is at what time the change to the squad needs to be finalised. I have searched and failed to find where 6.05am on a Monday morning is mentioned in the rules as the cut off for squad changes.

As we were in the process of completing the squad changes as required by the rules, and within the timeframe required, it seems that an arbitrary cut off time has been used as a "gotcha" moment. In contravention of the accepted practice of making squad changes prior to the following weeks team submission deadline of Thursday nights, it seems the punishment meted out to the Baghdad Bombers was very premature and done erroneously.

We respectfully request you withdraw the penalties consisting of a strike and warning and save them for when we are genuinely in the wrong.

So you didn’t have your appeal ready for 5pm?

F**** joke of a club, can’t even organise an appeal correctly mate
Patience grasshopper, we know we are the reason you are so entertained in this place, seems you have jumped the gun a little and failed to understand what was said. The 5.00pm mentioned was the time given for a withdrawal of the charge to avoid an appeal, not a deadline for the appeal to be lodged.

The Baghdad Bombers will be appealing this gross overreach unless the charge is withdrawn by 5.00pm EDST tonight.

Sheeeeesh, no wonder Cereal_vanilla is able to get away with frivolous charges without challenge from the non-thinkers in here.
