Bringing in his mate Bassett, a newb in Jones and switching Chaplin to the forward line surprisingly has made no difference, I can't believe it.

I can't believe I live in a world where I sat through the neeld years, saw a rebuild then a flag and I hate the club more than the neeld years.

Literally was just thinking since 2021 it's probably the least I've enjoyed footy excluding 2012-2013.

One thing about us being a joke was that there was nowhere to hide. Even idiots like Neeld were actually trying to make the club better. The current mob live in a fantasy world where we just need a little more luck to turn it round.
Neelds philosophy was right. We were a soft as **** club that needed a hard edge he was just shit at doing it. Roos did the same thing in a better way.

This is like watching a guy try and hand saw a tree down while the guy next to him is using a chainsaw and the first guy is like hmmm, maybe we need to handsaw a little different to beat it

Also as cringe as the Goody supporters at the club are, if the crowds and membership really drop off (which they will) the club will 100% sack him this year. Our crowds before mid 2024 were solid for a while, the club will absolute shit itself when we start getting sub 15k fans through the gate and membership drops below 50k.

That's probably because no one during the Neeld years was pretending that everything was fine. As soon as Peter Jackson stepped in he very openly expressed what a shithole this club was at the time. He was the exact opposite of all the morons who run the side now.

Yeah some honesty would be nice instead of brushing every issue under the rug. Never works out doing that.

Watched the presser on AFL.com.

Some good questions about midfield and forward connection and also about playing Viney, Oliver, Trac always in the midfield. Didn't here the answer to the last bit because it was cut off but Goody just constantly deflected saying we are/will work on it.

Just seems completely like a guy that has no plan at all.

AFL front-ended all our worst attendance games

Let's be real btw - his ability to motivate in 2021 was very good as was his defensive system, but we won the GF through individual brilliance from the players, not anything from Goody. He even wanted us to hack kick it in the 3rd and the mids literally ignored it and ran it out of the middle by hand.

Wish they'd ignore him now.

But the handsaw shows that we’re working incredibly hard.

That's because Jackson came from the ruthless Kevin Sheedy era of the 90's to 2000's where it was nothing but success and high standards. At that time they were such a ruthless footy club on and off field and Sheedy has been on record saying that Jackson was the best CEO he ever had even though he called time on Sheedys career in the end.

Look at the difference with Brad Green for instance. The guy is a red and blue pom pom waving nuff. Don't expect him to make any hard line calls anytime soon, he's fully embraced in the whole scheme.

It was as disgusting as I expected. Hilarious. Opened with the tried and true "its an even competition and if youre off by a bit you'll get punished" and "its only round 2" . Got the all time classic "we will work incredibly hard" to fix the forward 50 entries problem (going on 4 years now), "we will review the game hard" (great to know) and decided it was a good time and place to highlight his captains personal issues. Has to be up there in the top 5 disaster Goody pressers.

If you ever get into legal trouble, you should log watching Goody pressers as preemptive community service.

Just can't see us turning this around now. So many issues on and off the field. Injuries mounting as well, supposedly something wrong with Max. Is Trac and Clarry invested? Hard to get any positivity about the year when a young group like Kangas completely run over you. While I don't think we will be the only team they go passed, it's gotta be demoralising for the group.

So the question is, who is the preference to take the reins with the inevitable demise of Goody? Longmire? Hinkley? Simpson? Buckley? Do we try poaching a coach? Go after an untried one?

I don't want any old heads honestly , want someone newish who is innovative and works with a club who is attacking.
