This decision is a major cross roads in the clubs history, we have the easiest decision of all time to make yet I feel the club doesn't see it that way. I have no confidence in them making the right call.

If Ken himself had any self respect or respect for the club he'd walk, sadly I just don't think he has either of those traits. We are ****ed.
This is the crux of the matter. Anyone with a modicum of respect, either self, for the players whom he professes to love so much or the club would walk away. But we know Ken Hinkley is the most selfish, arrogant, disingenuous person to ever set foot in our once great club.

I don't know what everyone is outraged about. This was always going to happen. This season is playing out as all the good seasons under Hinkley do.

2014- 10-1 miss the top 4 and squander a GF appearance.
2017- 11-4 miss the 8.
2020 & 2021- Top of the ladder, lose two home preliminary finals.
2023- 14-2 then lose 3 on the bounce, two horrendously and likely squander a home final to Brisbane after having multiple chances to sew up a top 2 spot.

The only shock for me is people waste their time getting upset about it.

Perennial bridesmaid as coach, whose teams are known for squandering golden opportunities. Nothing will change with him there.

The AFL is running our club, hence the media love for ken. It's by design. The moment anyone is critical of him there's a media pile on and the club is on the phone.

After we almost folded in 2012 it's all about stability not premierships (they're a bonus). We are a business. We are just as much a franchise as Adelaide football club now really.

We also have a softcok breakfast TV host that runs this club , so what do you expect really?

"The AFL is running our club" is a copout. It is the Koch led board that had clear moments in Hinkely's tenure to not renew him but did not because they were, and probably still are, all in on him being the man to bring us multiple premierships (not just one). This is on Koch and the board.

Give us a very slight chance next week. No expectations away from home it's the sort of game ken Hinkley fc quite often will surprise.

GWS Kingers has playing with heart. Pretty much thinking no chance we win that. Zero.

Freo away 50 50 at best even with their season. Richmond wanting to make a last round statement.

Can honestly see maybe one win. maybe.

Thanks Kenny.

He has no idea what's wrong and no idea how to fix it.

Same as the last eleven years.

As a player, if you're getting 65 inside 50s for the game and you're told post match by the coach that you need to work harder for the gameplan to work I'd tell you to GAGF.

Hinkley is delusional - a man with no answers consistently failing to ever meet expectations when they slightly rise above a lukewarm level.

No one can say with a straight face that any half competent coach couldn't get the same production as what has been the past few years with this Muppet in charge. The team on paper is as good as any yet we are told to believe there are holes everywhere and it's only Ken's greatness keeping things afloat at Alberton.

Is the Geelong game next week when Hinkley officially gets the title of longest serving coach in VFL/AFL history at a single club without a GF appearance? If so I am sure the players will lift for the milestone game.

he took that record ages ago. the only ones ahead are terry wallace (who is only a few games ahead but had a second stint at richmond to get to that number) and bill stephen, who got sacked 3 different times.

When do we get our next shipment of boffin dust, smugly explaining that is all part of mastermind’s cunning plan?

hey ken, how come the players didn't perform last night?

how is it that the "senior coach" can have nfi what's going on, and everyone just excuses it lol

Didn’t say it did. But we have some serial offenders who continually let us down when it counts and it has been happening for a decade.

The senior coach has control over these types. A great coach steers players to not become serial offenders or steers these players out of the club. It's not all on the coach though, it's also the club, a wider issue. Our club wraps its arms around the players and the coach when the members get heated about our failures.

In his defence he hadn't had a chance to ask Josh Carr yet.
