It’s bloody cold in Melbourne tonight and I’m watching the World Cup. I have a few old hooky and a twelve days of Christmas porter to follow.

Neither side looks dominant. French more skilful but Aussies have had the better chances.

Looking cut which is a great advertisement for boxing training, what weight was this at George ?.
Cheers mate :) I am fighting at middleweight (75kg limit) given my height (5'10''). I would've fought at welterweight if I was younger but the weight is too hard to cut as I get older. I could fight at light heavyweight but I'd be undersized...tend to find that the heavier you go the taller the guys are.

Yes you need the pipe cleaner skinny legs of a tommy hearns plus some height to move up. A few like Leonard and Alvarez have won at multiple weights but even then you need to pick opponents carefully and they’re legends. I was watching hearns v hagler again the other day, what a fight that was and what a time in those divisions with all that talent.

That's funny, I was watching some of Hearns' fights last night haha. Hagler-Hearns' first round may be the greatest opening round of all-time.

Unreal era. But you're right, you need to be tall and have more room to put on weight to move up divisions especially these days. You'd get away with being a 5'10'' heavyweight 40-odd years ago but these days all the top guys are 6'5'' and above.

I reckon the heavyweight division is a joke these days but will always tune in to see a brutal KO here and there, and always watch the lightweights - most stacked division in boxing right now. But always make sure to watch the guys around my weight - namely guys like Spence, Crawford, Tszyu, Charlo (although I hate him), Alvarez, Plant.

Well done ledge.
You may have just inspired me to pick it back up... 8 years on... 4 years off... perhaps time to work this keg off and get back to it haha.
Get back into it mate! What weight did you fight at?

Might be about time I got my sh**t back in order haha.
Ahh it changed lol middle to light heavy. Probably more suited to middle at my height 6ft.
As you said go up ion weight and the blokes tend to get taller and rangier.

Side note: I was never much good! Just really enjoyed the sport and the fitness from it. And the competitiveness.

Nice stuff mate :) You should try give it another crack. It gets bloody addictive and once you're hooked it's expensive I reckon (but I don't play any other sports anymore so I can rationalise spending hundreds on gloves, wraps, shoes, tape etc lol).

When I first started I originally was doing 1 private session and 1 group session a week, and on the other days I'd just go to the gym. Now I'm finding myself doing 3 private sessions (technique mostly) and 2 sparring sessions a week, plus getting into the gym 6 days a week. It's tough to start initially but once you build a good base you don't want to lose it, IMO anyway.

Last week was my 18th amateur fight - back when I started I told myself I just want to have one so I can say I did it. It's an incredible sport to learn discipline and self defence.

Very nice mate, I was never doing as much as you're finding yourself do now, I only had a couple of intra-gym fights and was in the gym a few times a week pretty casually. 18 is awesome! Great achievement.

Saying all this, I know it's getting the rig tight for Dard Ball Get

Love to hear it. You should get in there mate, would love to hear your progress even if it's just casually.

Dard is too busy entertaining Kepler Bradley. He tell you that story? It's his claim to fame. Should get him to spill the beans xoxo
