It's half time of Round 1, and we're playing a genuinely up-and-coming, talented side (same as us). This was never going to be a 10-goal drubbing.

By all means rubbish the quarter, but the sky isn't falling.

I remember a day at Waverley against the dees. It blew a gale towards the dees goals 1st qtr. At qtr time the gale force winds did a complete 180 and again they had a huge advantage. At half time it bucketed rain and stayed raining the rest of the game.

We will still win this imo.

You would think there was a gale blowing to one end going by that half.

We have the gale in the next quarter so we have to make it count.

The worst thing about that last quarter is that Paul Roos is now up and about again.

the problem with dropping this game, IF we do, is it could be worth 8 points if us and melbourne end up fighting for that 8th spot. we give up 4 points and then give them 4 points

Our backline is awful we will not hold up against any of the good teams unless we can get some speed down there. Carlisle and Brown are not playing like they are an improvement on Fisher and Dempster. I would say if they can't improve it will be our achilles heel this season, we look as tight as a sieve back there. Geary and Savaged are working hard but totally useless every where else.

Nah they look alright, or at least of them do. Hogan been very good, done whatever was asked of him. Nathan Jones has been very good. Viney been pretty good. Weideman given them a versatile Membrey-like forward target. Vince and Tom McDonald good in defence in that quarter. We were not as hard at it as them, waiting for things to happen.

Mate, to hear you call it just then our boys had abducted your kids and torched your house.

By all means be dissatisfied with the quarter - aren't we all! - but keep some perspective; they're a decent side.

Our response is the most important thing now.

I really fail to understand why people are still living in 2012 and thinking Melbourne have a crap team.
Their midfield is one of the best and while we have a chance to win this, it was never going to be the walk in the park people seemed to be expecting.
