I don't hear the anthem at work, on a plane, on TV before any program, I don't hear it at a wedding, I don't hear it it at work events. If that's what will float your boat in order to stop it, then sure.

So it being sung/played before the footy tonight won't trigger anything? curious.

But it's ok to push for a change of date for Australia day ? Or call it Invasion day ?

Society has just got to cull the crap from the past and move the fck on !

Life is too short to hold onto this negative s**t.

All good to move on from capitalism then?

I've never particularly cared about Australia Day enough to want the date to remain, or have it moved.

I'm more of the opinion that if you're desperate for it to remain as it is, or call it Invasion day and want it changed, then you're wasting your life worrying over something so banal when you could be doing something to actually improve your life.

I certainly agree that people need to move on but unfortunately people are more inclined to hold onto the injustices of the past and want revenge, than to let it go and move on.

How many Indigenous Australians do you know personally?

Why is this important? I'm not the one that initially made that claim. I'm the person that called out someone for saying that Sam knew Indegenous people as some way to negate his racism. Get a clue Kram

This sounds like a you problem. How many weddings you flying to bro? Who do you work for?

If I worked for a Taylor Swift support crew I'd probably dislike Taylor Swift, doesn't mean I want to boo or rid her music from the people.

Collingwood fans tonight lol.

Nah, doesn't bother me in the slightest. I only hear it at the footy during Anzac day and the finals and test matches. So probably 10 times a year, which i can cop. But welcomed to country every ****ing week is beyond ridiculous.

She's sexy as **** though.

I agree. I was born here, probably before a few people who are welcoming me to my country. I can't understand why at every single formal event it is performed.

I got off a plane, was welcomed to country, went to a footy game, welcomed again, came home, welcomed again. Had a meeting at work, the weekly meeting, welcomed to county. Monday morning when the next meeting is, I'll be welcomed, tonight on the TV, I'm sure the audience will be welcomed and less than 24 hours, it'll happen again.

At what point does it lose its relevance?

Vote Yes then

Ok, so we have a metric. 10 times a year you can cop. Definitely a you problem. Not a WTC problem.

This may blow your mind but I've never heard the WTC before any of those things either, other than sporting events.

Where you'll also hear the anthem.

I just think society needs to move forward man, we all know who was here first ,everyone knows ! But it was nearly 250 years ago !
Horrible mistakes were made but we have just got to get on with it.

I've said I don't like WTC either, because it's overused in a lot of cases, but I'm also not coming out in support of someone suggesting spectators at a sporting event boo a cultural ceremony.

The last bit? Going down the 'Blackrock own everything' will eventually lead you down the path of believing Bill Gates is in charge of Nazi-Vampires who remain immortal by torturing children and drinking their adrenal fluid.

I've seen this happen to 2 people in my life. It's hilarious but completely insane.
I won't get into that. But imo these costless, do-nothing gestures like WTC and YES exist to cause division and distract from the centralisation of corporate power increasingly undermining government and culture. It's because I want better for indigenous people that this stuff irks me tbh, because it's empty pandering that doesn't do anything for anyone. Support real change ($$$) or shutup.

Move forward...by ignoring the past? Sounds like a good ol' fashioned history to repeat itself suggestion.

I hardly hear it, I think you're just making things up... again.

The past has been acknowledged but ! How long do we have to keep gripping onto it ! It cant be changed !

The past cant be changed, the future can... pick one

Absolutely. I guess the kicker for some is that we thought this would happen when Rudd say Sorry but that never happened. Now it's The Voice/Treaty/Change the date.

It's probably going to be very deflating when people campaigning for these changes get everything they want and realise they still feel the same. The push back to that I can understand but there are ways to do it without being a complete jackass, like Newman's suggestion.

Personally, I don't really care that much about any of that. I've got indigenous friends, so I'll just vote as they wish, because it's important to them.

The rest of the issues(WTC/Treaty/Change the date)? I'll just continue living my life without thinking about them at all.

Let me take a guess, you shop at Colesworth and don't live off the land. With such a determined attitude like yours how do you sleep at night? Sucking and accepting the undermining corporate teet, yet simply hearing a WTC creates such a reaction from you?

Nothing will ever satisfy both sides
