stop comparing it to franklin you flogs. franklin had the option to tackle in all instances where supspended. ganglihands could not tackle davis because he was contesting a mark and contact was unavoidable with 2 players going for the ball from opposite directions. both had eyes on the ball too.

i feel dirty defending a docker...

After seeing the replay they just showed, and with Davis reported to have shoulder damage, am inclined to agree.
just watched it again also, didn't realise Davis actually took the mark so Sandilands hasn't touched the ball at, he is in the contest for the mark and has cleaned Davis up, those saying there was no head contact can't agree, he has definetly collected him in the head along with his shoulder, MRP will have a difficult one here.

needs to get weeks due to the franklin suspensions this year, and i believe that if he gets off, the hawks will be appraoching the AFL for a please explain and possily taking them to court

lol another crybaby joins in. ill say this again. try and read this before posting you whinging hawkers, you look pathetic...

Oh rubbish. Nothing like the Franklin incidents. One is bloke choosing not to tackle and ending up hitting him in the head, one is a bloke collecting another when they are both going for a mark.

I felt so sorry for the young lad, did anyone else notice almost what was his last breath shoot out his mouth when he got hit...

One must remember Sandi is 120kg....

I do hope he's alright as it was a monster hit......for the record, Sandi's eyes was on the ball, doubt he will get any time for it :)

Goodness me. If Sandilands goes for that I will be appalled. It was a hip and shoulder and while there was high contact it was unintentional and the free kick should suffice.

Having said that I wouldn't be suprised if chook lotto didn't give him six weeks.

One would be nice, we have to play them next week ;)

Should be fine.

isnt the rule that if you go to hip and shoulder when you have another choice and you make contact with the ops head that youre going to get done????

or is that just sometimes....

Yep, just sometimes. Depends on who the player is, who he plays for, which player was hit and who he plays for. Simple as that.

Sandi almost ended up with the ball...

No malice, no head-high contact and the injury sustained was from when the poor bugger hit the ground

Hi !! my name is im_a_lazy_sod and I'm the perfect description of a one-eyed supporter :thumbsu:

How you could honestly say there was no head high contact made, has me LMFAO, there were 2 camera angles and as usual the second angle clearly picks up the flush shoulder hit to the head.

But you keep on believing it did'nt happen ;)

But don't forget eyes for the ball..

There didn't appear to be intent and that intent is what the AFL are trying to stomp out.

Play On I say...

Re: Phil Davis Cleaned up by Sandilands

there is already a thread about this
Learn to internet. This thread was up first.

Anyway, in the grand scheme of things it was a collision and he unfortunately got sent into dreamland. But the AFL have made their bed and have to lie in it. He must be rubbed out for high contact. His shoulder hit Davis' head.

Unless the MRP are dealing in grey areas which only apply to some people then there is something really wrong.

I don't agree he should be rubbed out but if they are going to be consistent, then he must be.

Re: Phil Davis Cleaned up by Sandilands

Doesn't deserve to go. It was fair and in the play.

That said, fantastic effort from Davis. He knew it was coming and didn't take a backwards step. Really showed a lot with that act today.
