SANFL Round 11

wow maybe we will see another player debut next week.

Birdman comes back next week and Gill is also pressing for selection. Jericho will prob be stiff as it is to lose his spot to Burton.

Apparently Craigy and the other crows blokes are taking plenty on notes on walker. Also the commentator just compared him to Buddy in the way he plays :eek:. Walkers a better kick though :D

Who would have thought the crows would have too many in form forwards this year

I wouldn't say we have too many in form forwards, would love to see some in form in the AFL side rather than the SANFL.

Having said that great to see Gill went well and Walker is again having a very good game. Also glad to see Hentschel with a few, the day he makes his return to the AFL side will be a great day.

Walker's first goal came about 2 minutes into the game following a good lead and a strong mark. Went back and drilled it from about 40 out. Next goal came a few minutes later when he picked up the loose ball and kicked truly from about 35 out. Next goal came about 5 minutes later where he outbodied his opponent and ran into an open goal. His first three goals came probably within the first 15 minutes and he was absolutely on fire and already had 2 different opponents. His first opponent was clearly going to struggle on Walker as he was simply too small.

In the second term he was reasonably quiet before again leading well and marking out well on the lead. He went back and kicked his 4th at about the midway point of the term. His fifth came from a free kick which he took from about 20 out. He had 3 opponents for the day and could have kicked more if Norwood’s hadn’t stopped running and had the delivery improved. He needs to work on his fitness as he was exhausted in the latter stages of the first term. He stood in the same area for about a minute when Vlatko was battling 3 defenders about 15 metres in front of where he was stationed. Shortly after he went to the bench where he stayed until quarter time. He is so strong and has a terrific pair of hands. He makes space between his opponent and when he is fitter watch out, he will be near unstoppable.

Kite was a late withdrawal which was disappointing. He walked out there at the quarter time huddler, with Bryce Campbell, and I’m not sure what injury he suffered. Hopefully he’ll be right after the bye because we really missed him today.

thanks drummond.. seems like taylor walker is still a fair bit off playing AFL if he is struggling for fitness at SANFL level

Geez....some final scores wouldn't hurt lads !!

North 19-13-127
West 10-14-74

Sturt 15-17-107
Norwood 14-6-90

South 15-10-100
Eagles 17-8-110

Or you could get them yourself next time instead of moaning?

Walker is awesome. Norwood started losing the game when they stopped kicking too him. I can add much more than Drumm has except that Taylor layed 2 absolutely awesome tackles in the last quarter which shows how his defensive side is also improving.

I also saw most of the reserves and it was the best I've seen Martin play, he may still be retained.

South up by 22 points 10 minutes into the last quarter stopped running, but who cares anyway? At least Port lost! Keeps my spirits up after going last night aswell...
Hentschell although he only played South he was picked up by ex Sydney player Bennett (rumoured to be on 80k a year) and looked very impressive. His disposal was first class, hands looked good, threw himself at the contest and I stopped cringeing every time he went near the ball after about 10 minutes. He is looking a lot better than even 2 weeks ago. He has the big fat knee brace off, just strapping, and Im sure he is now ready for AFL footy. He did everything that could of been asked of him today. Most importantly he is turning better, still quick off the mark and he still oozes class.
Petrenko looks very classy and doesnt mind taking them on. Its the first time Ive seen Mini Buddy play and his disposal was impressive, probably had around 15-20 touches. Doubt he was in the best but I see what everyone sees in him.
McGregor was not very inspiring IMO. Started down back and I though he was average at best. Souths forwards actually looked dangerous and I may be wrong but Parry kicked 5 and Kenny was on him when he was wresting from ruck.
Jacky had tonnes of the ball early and must of had between 20-30 touches. He got most of his touched uncontested and although he didnt do much wrong I wasnt inspired, although he did manage to keep his feet all day long which is a plus... He needs a bit of time for sure...

Did Walker kick 5 or 6 goals today. Some people seem to think he mayve kicked 5 instead of 6.
