Your backline is to weak, need to get a midpricer in there. Maybe downgrade Murphy to a rookie so that you're able to do this. I don't know the stats, but I think Jacobs is the only one to benefit from the new hitout scoring, Goldstein I think it won't affect much. I think trade in one of these two for Mumford. Also, bring in Lycett or Ryder for Clark as you need to have some backup in your rucks.View attachment 110999
Version : Lost count.
I think the balance is out.
My strategy. - Premos and rooks especially in the Mids and Rucks, to start with 14 premo starters. A strategy this year as there seems to be plenty of cash cow rooks in the forwards and mids.
Pros - to restrict trades.
Cons - unsure of cash generation and unsure of premos finishing position end of year?
Backs - is a bit of a worry when I look at it, not enough points generation. Taking a wait and see approach on this line.
Mids - premos who I feel will finish in the top 10 mids. Will the extra mid rook this year generate enough cash for upgrades else where?
Rucks - can just about afford anyone if one fails, also have 50k in the bank.
Fwds - 2 KPP priced rooks with JS, can they moo fast enough and generate enough points?
Advice... do you think a swap for Murphy/Parker to Deledio into the mids and bringing in Dusty to the FWDS to swap back when a premo falls in the Mids is a smart move?
Thanks for your feed back, are you saying that I should take Jacobs instead of Mummy? Or Goldstien is a safer/cheaper choice with better upside due to points/cash benefits? Lycett is making a huge impression this year and I am highly regarding him as a good option, I have had him in and out but I am following the rule of not picking too many from your own team.Your backline is to weak, need to get a midpricer in there. The rookie selections of McInnes and Waterman are interesting, do you think they'll play early?
Yeah Mumford to either Jacob or Goldstein. I don't think there's really one who has more upside/is safer than the other. Goldstein is cheaper, which could be the deciding factor. Thanks for your feed back, are you saying that I should take Jacobs instead of Mummy? In regards to Fraser Mcinnes and Alec Waterman, they are just place holders at the moment. They are depth players, and not best 22 at this stage.
Alec Waterman really did get under the radar in the East, one big bodied, strong player with thighs like Ollie Wines that will make it IMO. His Dad played in the 92 premiership team, a talented skilled and hard defender that worked harder than most. If Priddis goes down who is our oldest player now and is due for an injury sooner than later, Waterman is our man for that inside mid role, reminds me of Kerr.
Now that Darling is injured, Fraser McInnes has the role behind McGovern and will be called upon if he goes down or his form drops off, or Kennedy is injured. He has good hands and is Michael Brennan's nephew who also was part of the 92 Eagles premiership. McInnes showed a bit in last years Grand Final. Is probably in his last year or 2 as he has been on our list as a KPP player for 4 years on the list so will be given a chance I think. Yeah but both place getters at the moment.
Newnes and Steven have me intrigued, who do both these players remind you of?Yeah Mumford to either Jacob or Goldstein. I don't think there's really one who has more upside/is safer than the other. Goldstein is cheaper, which could be the deciding factor.
I think if the player is good enough, it doesn't matter what team they play for. I have Steven, Goddard, Newnes, McKenzie from the Saints and I'd probably have them even if they didn't play for my team.
I know those two are place holders, but Laverde, Daniel, Boekhorst are probably better options still
Newnes reminds me of Dal Santo, don't know who Steven reminds me of. I think Newnes could average 95+ and is a bargain for his price. He has put on 6kg, has won our 3km time trial and came second in the 2km (??), he has all the signs of a breakout year. Steven I think will average 110 he did it in 2013 after a full preseason before getting injured last season and never being fully fit.Newnes and Steven have me intrigued, who do both these players remind you of?
Also how is Goddard and McKenzie tracking? Will they get a chance?
I like it. Be prepared to have a rush in round 1 lockout to pptentially downgrade NVB or Cripps to fund rookies elsewhere as there will likely be good cheap rookies. Midfield is solid. Be careful not to be sucked into Newnes hype - make sure you're happy with him with own research etc, and not just that others are.
Will all those fit in a mini van .Well Cox as you know is a rookie project player and is still very raw. Like, debut in 2017 kind of raw.
I didn't think he was anywhere near getting a game unless Witts, Grundy, Keeffe, Gault and Moore were all in a minivan that went under a bus.
Haven't seen Buckley's name around the traps yet? tackles kicks the ball effectively can kick a goal too. ? on Geary or henderson.
midfield is set. i ain't changing it. Fwds standard

View attachment 111065 I've been playing with this and was after some new eyes on it.
Personally considering big Peter Wright (GCS) as R3 who should be more likely to get games than Mason CoxWhat's this about Collingwood?
And what makes you say Cox will definitely be getting game time?
Solid team. Potentially 14-15 keepers there. I too agree that there are better options than Enright & I'm not buying the Newnes hype till I see NAB.TOXIC, KADOG, GINGY, please dissect this team,I know I'm mid heavy but I see value in points for money there and I've gone quite light in the back line. Very happy with my rucks. And not sure yet who the right pups will be till NAB and beyond. Hoping I'm somewhere around the mark. EVELUATION???

Thanks, will wait on nab to see the kids,Heeney's injured, so trade him for Vandenberg. Downgrade Hodge for Newnes. On the other hand, a good-looking team

Possessions v TOG
Not stats, but my take on BF Saints board observations;
Newnes - BOG (Richo Q&A, saints.com.au match report, BF posters confirm) with Weller & Fisher not far behind.
Goddard was impressive too, played on Membrey & by all reports took honors.
McCartin did a couple of good things early, got rested.
Roo, Steven & McKenzie didn't play.
Lonie & Sinclair went ok without doing too much.
Plus, Saad was really impressive, didn't look like he had sat out 12 mths was 1 comment.
FWIW
I read in the paper that Geary also played well in def. Another risky POD mid-priced Def....
Like the look of the midfield but the forwards and back have too much risk for me. With Ibbo, Geary and Buckley in the backline, two of whom ( Geary and Buckley) aren't really proven supercoach scorers. You'll be bound to have some tough rounds. I'd go for Henderson over Geary.
Ziebell is an interesting pick, keep an eye on him in the NAB. Plenty of potential but hasn't quite hit it yet. Bellchambers and Daisy adds a bit more risk.
What do you think Daisy will average?
