Hi guys. Need a little help please. Not sure if I've robbed my fwds too much and are relying on too many risky types.

Franklin, Goodes, Didak, C.Knights, Petrie, Krakouer, Gamble. Bench: Richardson, McKernan, Matera.

Am i too thin here?

Don't get Gamble! never been a supercoach scorer. Would down grade to a rookie (Charlie Dixon - GC, Shaun McKErnan - Ade) and play Richardson.

I think Knights is a risk worth taking to be honest. Some see him as a liability, I see him as a huge cash bonaza with scope to be a possible 85 + ppg player. Leave Petrie out, will be a good down grade target for your rucks when he returns (suspension round 1).

Just my two cents though buddy..

My dillema, any one seriously looking at Taylor Walker (Adelaide)? Already have Knights from the crows, but he has scored big in the pre season, with Tippett missing early, the focus will be on Walker to perform. A chance anyone think?

Don't have enough for Yarran, so perhaps a down grade to a rookie perhaps?

THanks HFF.

I dumped Gamble for N. Riewoldt! Was a bit top heavy in midfield so thought having another premium in forwards was prudent.

I'm tossing up between Petrie and Yarran as well. THink Yarran will be a good scorer this year - especially if Gibbs plays more midfield. I like having Petrie's MPP though. mmmm

walker always manages to disapoint...

Petrie will be missing round 1 (suspension) and 3 (bye), so think about him as a downgrade target perhaps?

I have Yarran but am not completely sold, don't know why.. But then again, who do we look at? Walker? Yarran? Hurley? Banfield even? Duncan? really stumped on that one forward under $300,000.

With a decent MPP setup, you can save a trade and keep petrie on the bench.

Thankfully a bunch of GC kids will get some time to shine whilst he's sitting back

Guy's what are your thoughts on Fyfe? Currently have him as my fifth forward, just wondering whether or not I should replace him.

My current forward line is

Roo, Buddy, Johnson, Higgins, Fyfe, Knights, Krakour

Bench: Richardson, Matera, Smith

Thoughts/suggestions would be much appreicated, cheers

I like Fyfe, he's a certain improver. I like your forward line, I've got similar but with Goodes instead of Johnson.

cheers mate, I failed to mention that I actually have 213k in the kitty, which is why I'm wondering if I should upgrade him to say adam goodes or pav, that's what has me puzzled at the moment.

I'd look at it this way.

Goodes, best case 120+ certain keeper, worst case 94 avg and still a keeper.
Fyfe, do you think his best would beat Goodes' worst? Or if you are certain he can average 90+ I'd use that extra $200k to upgrade someone else. Having that amount of money in the bank is essentialy a 1 player handicap until you use it.

Yup, i'd spend the cash and wait for the rookies to provide the cash for upgrades.

be careful johnson and higgins are very good players but are very painful in your team, maybe just pick one to be safe

I tossed up the pav v didak v harvey thing for a long time.

Went with Pav in the end as he is more central to the dockers than the other two are to their respective teams - the others could get pushed out to a flank this year.

Would probably steer clear of Didak, he has indicated that he will be limiting his time in the midfield this year. Has only managed to average just over 100 playing a decent chunk of time through the middle, if he plays predominantly as a forward his scores will suffer. Also i'm not sure he is 100% yet, he is still trying to shake the injuries from late last year.

Higgins and Sylvia break out year? Or go with Didak/Pavlich?

Break down year more like it.

Why people think a perennially injured player will all of a sudden fulfil their 'potential' if their body holds up makes me smile inside.

Same thing goes for Travis Boak.

Trade wasters.

*That being said I do have Jack Grimes in my team

I have both Sylvia and Higgins.

Higgins 09 was awesome, and Sylvia 10 was awesome too. So they've both shown that they are capable of having solid, 90+ ave seasons. The question is can they take that next step and go into the 100 category.

That's the punt a winner has to take :D

Both are capable of some decent scores but also capable of some pretty low ones.. Remember when Sylvia had 2 scores over 100 then had a couple of 50-70 games?? similar story with Higgins.. hmm

So essentially you're gambling that these players return to previous form (whereby they range in scores from 140 - 60) and their bodies hold up. No thanks.

I'm all for taking a gamble in Supercoach but I just don't see the point in risking trades for players whose scores yoyo unless you can get 7-10 decent games out of them before upgrading them to proven top stocks. There's no way I'd be thinking either of these two will be keepers.

You shouldn't be afraid to start with a bit more than "the norm" in your kitty. If your underpriced guy goes as well as the more expensive option over the first 6 or so weeks, you could well be in the same position points wise with $100K+ up your sleeve for your first upgrade (or an earlier "correction"). Whenever I've felt compelled to change my team at the last minute, simply to use more of my cap, I've regretted it later.

I like Fyfe too. :thumbsu:

With 'marking on a lead' now worth so much, has anyone given any thought to the great Travis Cloke?

Think he'll have a great year. He had all that off-field stuff distracting him last year, but it's too risky with the The Krak in the forwardline as well, although The Krak has DP eligibility.
