Guys I used to work with Scott's manager and I can confirm absent of a complete about face from the dons management that Scott will be leaving at years end.

He believes and I agree with him he

a) Is worth a 2 year deal
b) Deserves a 2 year deal
c) Can get a two year deal from another club

Management will simply not budge and he is deeply hurt and offended.

So having said that what is he worth given he has 2 max 3 years left.

I was thinking 2nd round pick??

I can see him at th dogs

I think he'd do well to try WCEs. Their key forwards are either young or suck, depending on who you think their key forwards are. He could take the suck factor away whilst teach the younger ones a few tricks.

Two years ago, the Crows wouldn't been desperate for him - a quality CHF was the difference between us being a legitimate premiership side.

Now, we've got enough good youth coming through I don't think he'd be on our radar.

Geelong maybe? They've struggled a little since Nathan Abblett decided to take a break.

Hawks don't need him, Sydney would be a possibility.

You'd mainly get interest from a top 6 Club who thought he could make them a flag favourite.

Bulldogs maybe, but Murphy has been killing it - would depend on the price I guess.

I hear he has negotiated a 3 year deal with the dogs already.

The 3rd year he take on the position of Handball coach.

Come on Scotty, you have been the most selfish player in the AFL for 10 years.

Show a bit of loyalty and sign on for 1 year deals, just like Crawf has done for the last couple of contracts.

Its really up to Lucas if he wants to be a one-team man, or look to extend his career by a year or two somewhere else.

I think there are a lot of tangable, and financial, benefits to sticking with one club, which come into effect later in life. More so that one extra year of playing.

I'd take the 1 year at a time deal if I was him

Bulldogs first round pick = Ayce Cordy (Father/Son)

Bulldogs second round pick = pick #28 = Essendon would want more then that.

Yes he's more then good enough to make the team but do the dogs need him enough to give up something of any value?

In conclusion I don't think the Dogs would go out of their way to get him. And I don't think any team is going to give a first round pick for a player who they will only get 2 seasons out of. Especially considering the 'draft draught' that will happen in 2009/2010/2011.

wow. never thought i'd see the day when big red started a shonky thread about essendon? do you ever give up.

lucas will stay, i would think even if he signed a 1 year deal. in the same fashion as fletcher has done. . . just my opinion.

You want the Bulldogs to use a first round pick on a father son? Do you really think any other clubs are going to nominate him with their fisrt pick? He must be an absolute superstar in the making.

AFL football is his life he can try and get as many years as he wants lets face it he has a couple of years left and wants to get the most out of his body because when its over its over

Of course I don't want the Bulldogs to use a first round pick on a father son.

But several recruiters have already said he would be a top 5 draft pick. So it looks likely somebody will bid for him before our first round pick which looks to be above 11 at the moment.
