It'd be a sad day in footy if Kyneton didn't field a side. Money killing the game
Money is only killing the clubs that can't manage their money...

Spending money is easy, there are heaps of hacks demanding 500 a game... Some clubs are happy to pay that as "part of the game were in"

Clubs need to stop paying on potential... Potential never won a flag for anyone...

Make that 20 year old kid who thinks he's a "500 dollar guy" do something to make a club say "you're worth 500"

The moment clubs start paying in the here and now, and stop paying on what they may be someday worth, is the moment bush footy starts heading in the right direction

Unfortunately some clubs have to pay any hack just to get any/some players. Which isn't healthy really but it's a sad truth. What you say about the here and now is absolutely dead on

Do you think the introduction of Storm has hurt Kyneton??

I remember hearing a while back the introduction of a new club would kill another, although they were refering more to a local district league club such as Inglewood or Mounts who dont have much of a population and need to draw from Bendigo.

Not saying its Storms fault or the BFL's fault for putting them in the league just interested in peoples opinions.

Would the current tigers list be competitive in the RDFL?

Perhaps some impact, but quite a different drawing area I'd have thought... (As far as player recruiting)

Last year they would have beaten Lancefield, Rockbank, Kilmore, Broadford and Woodend - looking at 6-8 wins depending on double up games. Page would have been in the best 3 midfielders in the RDFL and will be be chance to win the Henderson if Darley have a good year.

The Darley Football Club affiliated with the Ballarat Football League are looking for a practice match on Saturday 6th of April. Darley Park will be available.

Great timing - alot of ex Tigers running around for the Devils.

Kyneton won't field a senior team in the BFNL this year. Source: Bendigo Advertiser.

Whats going on there must be more to it than whats been put out there, committee or/and supporters not doing the hard yards or has it been along slide down without any one believing that it would not happen to them?

Fielding a reserves team does show a determination by the club to stay in the BFNL. If the club aims to have a senior team back on the field in 2014 under Brian Walsh then he should be heavily involved in the coaching of the under 18's and reserve team this year.

Just having a reserve team in 2013 will be interesting. In the short term a competitive reserves team may be better for the club's supporters to watch than a senior team being belted week in week out which is just sole destroying.

So how will that work? Only playing reserves - round 1 v Gisborne what stops them playing alot of senior players to get some match fitness into them? With no seniors will the twos play at 2?

He means there's nothing stopping Gisborne playing a heap of 1s against Kyneton. It happened in LVNA when a team had C Reserve with no C Grade and the opposition just played their C Grade against them.

What about anyone that plays for Gisborne reserves in round 1 against Kyneton reserves is not eligible for senior selection the following week. (This rule would apply to all BFNL clubs in 2013).

In any event, you would think BFNL clubs would not want to risk their better players being injured just to stack a reserves team.

Lets be honest, If Kyneton is to have any sort of future in the BFNL their reserves team must be competitive in 2013.

I know of one!!
Who's that roota?
Not sure if opposition clubs would want to stack there reserves against kyneton. If anything, it'd be beneficial to the younger players development to play against what hypothetically should be a half decent Kyneton reserves, if what senior players they've got stick around

Not sure you can do that. Not just round 1 but any week - a kid comes out and plays a great game should not be banned from playing seniors the following week. No doubt senior players will play that week. Teams will have a two week bye with playing Kyneton before and after the mid season bye. Kyneton will have senior players playing reserves all year. I am sure it will get worked out. Would like to hear from the president - if money is not the problem then what is?

so with Kyneton having netball, and under 18's and reserves do the reserves play at normal time or when playing Kyneton everyone starts later? Would have to be consistent throughout the year I am guessing.
People talking about getting players from NT to prop up numbers are kidding themselves as most recruits want a job and housing whilst here plus match payments. Hard to do and costly. You could do it for 2-3 not 10.

Are Kyneton obligated in this instance to pay Brian Walsh for the season as coach or all agreed not happening?

Also I really do hope the KFC returns next year. Everyone interviewed has said " hard work" required. Keep putting in the hard yards and come back bigger and better next year. The club is too important to lose within the town.
