Hai gaiz, just wanting get in early for the inevitable argument with Fivey at some point during the year about credits.

Here is the list of players expected to be untouchable and have credits to allow them to regularly return straight into the side from injury, or not be dropped after a long stretch of bad form. You will not see OMITTED next to any of these players names at any point. IF by a miracle they do actually get "dropped", they will have illness or another made up injury attached to it to save face.

  • Darling
  • Cripps
  • Hurn
  • McGovern
  • Barrass
  • Shuey
  • Gaff
  • Yeo
  • Kelly
  • Naitanui

Next bracket down who has credits, isn't likely to ever get dropped, but not held in quite as high regard as the platinum members above, so Simpson wouldn't baulk so much about bringing them through the WAFL prior to coming back from injury are -

  • Ryan
  • Sheed
  • Allan
  • Duggan

Everyone else is open season for dropping at the expense of the above :thumbsupemoji::thumbsupemoji:

The opening monologue from Mark Duffield (starting at about 1.40) from the December 7 show is an excellent summary of where West Coast is at and the challenges they face

Bit late to the predictions party, but here we go.

1. Hewett to be our best recruit. Will be our next Kerr.
2. Oldies to come in and out of the side with injuries. Nothing will change in this regard.
3. Finish bottom 4, but with a 6-7 wins.
4. Darling leading goalkicker, with 40 for the season.
5. All 7 draftees to debut + Chesser.
6. Hurn or Shuey to retire mid year after recurring injuries.

  • Darling
  • Cripps
  • Hurn
  • McGovern
  • Barrass
  • Shuey
  • Gaff
  • Yeo
  • Kelly
  • Naitanui

Out of this lot the only players that should be playing next year are:

  • Darling only if he has a good year
  • Barrass improving
  • Mcgovern if injury free
  • Kelly going Ok
& few of the older guys should be gone next year even if they have a reasonable year.

You’re obviously an idiot.

Looking at our fixtures I think there are 8 games we are a really good chance of winning if we can get close to a fit list playing most games.

Rnd 1 vs Norf @ Marvel
Rnd 2 vs GWS @ Home
Rnd 9 vs Suns @ Home
Rnd 11 vs Bombers @ Home
Rnd 13 vs Crows @Adeliade
Rnd 16 vs Saints @ Home
Rnd 20 vs Norf @ Home
Rnd 24 vs Crows @ Home

Might be a few other surprises during the year and probably lose a couple of the above games so around 6-9 wins.

Means we still probably finish bottom 6 some where.

If we can’t win at least 4-5 of the above games then we well and truly will need Harley Reid…….

Bold (and a bit off the mark), but whatever, it ain't gonna happen.

I think a more useful guiding principle might be if the old/better players (aka Credits Crew) each play say 16 games and are 'managed', 'injured' or WAFL 'mentoring' for the other seven games.

This will leave about 160 games (7 games x 23 rounds) for the fringe players and better draftees.

What is the AFL's policy for COVID in 2023? It's obviously not going away, so players will keep getting infected. Have they ditched the isolation and testing requirements in line with the rest of society?

7 or 8 wins, finish just outside the bottom 6. Most wins are at home. Feels like this past season was a one off due to covid and an unusually long injury list.
Well the AFL threw a bloody wrench into the works with that Magic Round in SA in Round 5.

Well you Know I live in SA ep2018 . So I am definately Heading to rounds 4 (Freo vs Crows) and Round 5 (Freo vs Suns)

One of my close mates is an Eagles fan (Yep the crazy mate that threw $100 on West coast in 2018 at $40). He will got to all 3 eagles games in SA.

Eagles have 3 Games in SA. Magic Round in round 5 vs the cats, then vs Port in round 6 then vs the crows in round 13.

Both of us should be 2-0 heading into the derby imo, will be a good lead up but you should get the job done against us.
