I have no idea what this Song Contest thing is but seems like it is somewhat popular. Seems to be lots of folks participating.

I participated in it once and came 20 somethingth. Clearly it discouraged me...

I think i might have a generational disadvantage , i dont keep up much with what you youngsters are listening to.

Don't let age stop you. The lovely GreyCrow has 12 wins and started playing around the same time I did. Unlike me , he's on a streak and hasn't missed any games, but I doubt I would've missed over 50 ie he has 8 more wins than me for 50ish more games. I've played over 150. He has played over 200.

I think the most successful people nom and listen to a variety of genres from a bunch of different eras

They also nom and vote more strategically than I do

I don't care enough about winning to nom winning songs. I just nom songs I like, and that comes back to bite me more often than not.
That said, I came 2nd last round, and won this round, so this is a rare streak for me. I don't expect it to last though because someone stole my song
(I gave them a 5 for their trouble - it inspired the theme and everything)

Guessing is fun, but it never influences my votes either. I will admit that I struggle when I'm hosting , but I do manage to separate the posters from the song . I mean if I was voting for posters, I'd vote for por_please_ya every round.

You have more integrity than me then. I am occasionally strategic with my billy, if there are a few contenders and I feel like it's going to be a two horse race between my song and another.

Well, I have a gigantically long Spotify list and many Youtube saves playlists to go from. Also, just searching beforehand helps me find new bands. I always listen to songs in full before i nom to. Gotta make sure I can morally back it up.

I once did the maths and posted the stats for our Graduation Years round but:
-that was a while ago and the composition would be different
-a few people used uni rather than highschool graduation years
The stalwarts are either 40+ or mid 20s .

I love discovering new music either directly or indirectly through the contest. It's the reason I keep playing. Well that, and I love hosting as you know
I rarely google nom, but did it for the games round because I'm not a gamer. I should do it more often. I listened to it multiple times before nomming it though.
