Actually it means that my brain skipped typing out the word "could", as in...

I remember years ago when we got little dogs we hid eggs all over the garden Sat night when the kids were asleep, and when they went to hunt eggs in the morning all they found were foil wrappers and dog vomit.
Another year we got them those huge dinosaur eggs and they left them in their rooms in the box. When they went in later to eat some all that was left was the bottom of the egg…full of drool.

We have cats now.
