Hello all,
Season 37 is concluded. Congratulations to the Old Boys on their 2nd Premiership, incredible effort. Congrats once again to all award winners, pantskyle winning another Mobbs is an enormous effort, Brenton Davy on the Fred and myblueroan winning the coveted EKA medal named after a league legend in eagleskickass. Been a great season capped off by an unbelievable grand final match tonight. Commiserations to jackster83 and the Swamprats on their loss and hope that they regroup ahead of Season 38.
As most of you already know, Elton Johns Wig was the administrator for Season 37 and despite his intent to see through the remaining 2 seasons on his term, it is with no malice that the Committee has been forced enact Section 3D and remove him from the position. All Committee Members and Elton Johns Wig himself have come to a consensus that this is the best move forward for the league and our thoughts and wishes are with Wig while he attends to much more serious matters than this place. Please respect his privacy but as always, embrace the big fella when he next chimes back in as I know he feels the love of you all each time he comes back on.
The league owes an enormous thank you to Elton Johns Wig for being willing to put his name forward to lead this league and we thank him immensely as a Committee, as a league, and as a 300+ strong community. On ya once again Wigs.
We hope that Elton returns to the league sooner rather than later and can't wait to see him rejoin the place to learn of the news of the Season 37 Premiership. If you haven't already, please show the big guy some love and let him know your appreciations and thoughts which I know are not lost on him.
Season 38
As per Section 3D of the rules, The Committee is now tasked to find a caretaker admin from within themselves who will oversee the Season 38 (and beyond) administration application process. This means that only a club rep can be appointed as caretaker admin who will have no overarching power over the league per se, but will see through the next few weeks to help identify an administrator.
The current reps are as follows:
Wonders - AnUltimateRessie
Furies - James Colorado
Rats - jackster83
Hawks - Tarkyn_24
Old Boy's - Robertio
Royals - Footypie32
Roys - Mobbs
BEARS - tony
Dragons - Greenery
Bombers - gab213
Gumbies - Falconista
Demons - Headless
Warriors - TheInjuryFactory
Of the club reps listed, the following have nominated to put their hand forward (as at 9pm):
"The person nominated will be required to co-ordinate the overall process in consultation with the broader committee room. However they will hold no greater powers with regard to selection or preference of admin candidates, and will not perform any other league caretaking responsibilities beyond ensuring an expedient administration selection process to install a permanent admin to take us forward."
And that is where we're at now...
While there have been some members who have nominated for the position of administration in discussions, as there is no appointment as yet to whom the caretaker admin is thus, all nominations from within are null and void for the time being. It's been fantastic to see multiple people already willing to put their hand up to be the next admin and it shows that there are some people out there who are willing to go above and beyond. But this is not in the spirit of the administrator role which is to represent all. It is not for those in privileged positions to sway their position in the league in advance of you all, the community. The public must be notified that EoI's and nominations alike will be called for shortly. I imagine within the next 24 hours there will be an appointment made and publicly announced. This will be followed by the process calling for nominations for those willing to be the Sweet FA admin.
This is your notice that if you are interested in becoming the next administrator of the league, to please standby for further instruction from the caretaker admin club rep. Further enquiries should be directed to your club rep per the list above.
Signing off
Thanks to all who have been extraordinary this season on behalf of the admin team, appreciate this place so much and am so pleased with the community we have who give so much. Been a pleasure and I'd be happy to take on any role in the near future if it means that I get to work with some of the best this website brings like I have this season.
Tomorrow night, I still intend to host the Season 37 Beez awards and will return to preparing for that. I'll remain within the Committee for a short period of time while I attend to the Season 38 fixture which was actually finished and completed having been in open discussion for the past 4 months until a number of clubs decided that this week of all weeks, they'd like to have it changed from a simple 14 game/ 15 round structure to a complex 16 game/18 round season meaning we are in effect, back to day dot. It's frustrating but this is why this place matters to me - because I am here to help and will give it a crack. So, I'm hoping to have that finished in the coming days at which point I'll exit the Committee.
For now, I think I deserve a quiet drop. Been sick all week and still not feeling 100% so haven't been able to enjoy a drink since Mobbs Medal night which has not been good given the week it's been also in here.
Cheers all,
Clarkey
