The Filth Wizard can we please enforce this rule for next season, with matches being forfeited if a team is unable to put together a team sheet by 3am Friday morning.

Would save the simming team a ton of work & help shrink the league back to a more sustainable amount of teams

I’m thinking we should charge people to play. The committee could live like kings. Kings!

Season Comparisons New

Let's grab some data and compare it to seasons 34-current. If you want to do any comparisons before that head to a earlier edition.

Total Match Thread Posts S34-S38.png

Firstly, let's have a look at total match thread posts. Some things to point out here - Season 34 had just 12 games per team and S36 had just 14 games per team. The rest, including season 38, had teams play 16 games therefore there was 24 more games in season 38 than season 34.

The numbers are pretty clear that there has been a significant drop off in match thread quantity since the start of the OOB's error. COVID may play a part in this though with people's average time online dropping significantly since as well.

Average Unique Posters Per Week S34-S38.png

We can't blame COVID or the lack of for this one though. Across Season 34-37 the average unique posters showing up a week was fairly steady but has dropped off by about 20.3 this season.

Average Active Unique Posters _5p per Round S34-S38.png

A similar trend can be also seen in active unique posters or those with more than 5 posts per week. It will be seriously dangerous for the league if these numbers start to drop below the 100 mark.

The above two graphs only include rounds with 6 games in it to stop the data from skewing.

Total Match Posts by Round.png

Some bright spark thought it was a good idea to introduce weeks with less than 6 games so it screws with the numbers a little bit but overall the seasons numbers keep dropping off the season goes longer but for whatever reason the final round in season 38 was one of the best final rounds in this data set.

If you want any more comparisons or graphs, I'll try to tap some keys and get you something but next I'll start doing some team 'analysis' instead.

How can AnUltimateRessie add more love to these graphs, serial_thrilla?

they look better than the first ones! and that's about as much lovin' these numbers will get!
I would like to see more love. I don't know what that is but I would like to see it.
