In true Baghdad style, the Ritz has been remodelled in the style of a “post war” era, the place is a pile of rubble and unlikely to be restored to its former glory.

It will remain a monument to the waste and excess of its previous occupants, as a warning to those that heed its message.

There are 11 other clubs that will miss out altogether. They can cry about it quietly, it takes as much effort to lose this convincingly without being investigated as it does to win.
