Back to you casino suggestion cats_09 ….. I find the GC casino to be the worst in Australia! I think they did it up a few years ago so haven’t been to see the changes but I used be a croupier in Brisbane. We couldn’t punt in our own casino… actually we couldn’t really punt at Jupiter’s but we used to do casino runs where a whole bunch of us would cruise down and leave within and hour of 2 without getting busted. Usually with pocketfuls of loot bc we all knew what we were doing. We’d hit the roulette tables in pairs or the blackjack and come away either big winner or losers for the night. Usually the former though. lol

I was in Atlantic City, sat at a pokie bmachine, didn't pay attention to what the previous person had been betting and simply hit the "play again" button - they had obviously been betting at a higher rate than I normal do, but that one spin won me enough cash to more than pay for my 4 day stay

When in Vegas I joined as a member at every casino I visited as you always got a number of freebies - from a used deck of cards, on to free buffet meals and free credit to use. I also loved that you would get "free" ($1 drinks) as long as you were playing either at the machines or tables and they'd make those drinks nice & strong, because obviously inebriated folks loose inhibitons and waste more money gambling

One such casino I sat at a machine, put my money in & quite quickly had my drink order taken - always Jack & ginger. Fast forward 25-30 minutes and while I hadn't received my drink or an offer of another, I walked away with a few hundred dollars

It may not sound that impressive money wise, but when trying to save money by staying in backpackers for $20 a night, it was great

I'm not sure why some think rebranding is some new "woke" thing, companies have always rebranded product names - I feel like some of the most vocal complaining about it being "woke" are from my age group where we went through the rebranding of '****' to 'Fads' and the red tip removed so that were simply white sugar sticks

We all survived that change, so I'm pretty sure we can all survive Redskins becoming Red Ripperz, or Chicos to Cheekies


Totally agree about the Washington Redskins football team - all good to say you're changing your name, but at least have a new bloody name before getting rid of the old one. The NFL should have stopped them from playing until they had a real name

its Nestle as well, they would have thought it was a great way to get some free advertising.

They embrace child labour and at one points has actual slaves. They literally stole a towns water supply!

I gurantee any motives for changing the name were anything but woke.

I tried to get work in Vegas. That would have been an epic experience. However I couldn’t obtain a green card.

I didn’t last long after that… got fired from the cruise ships and sent home

Vegas can either be the most expensive holiday you'll ever take our one of the cheapest if you play your cards right

I loved the bus system can then - it was $2 one way or $5 for a 24hr ticket. I used to buy the 24hr ticked and it meant either starting or finishing the new day slightly earlier than the previous to get that third trip in

Hilariously, a small vocal minority want the team to change back to the redskins. First, people were offended and it got switched, now some are offended that the heritage is being lost and want to pay homage to it again…

We obviously all know about tipping culture in America, but I was reading up on some stuff before I went the first time so I didn't make too much of an ass of myself - particularly in Vegas where it seems you're meant to tip everyone

The Lonely Planets guide book at the time suggested valet drivers in Vegas at the right location was one of the best paying jobs when factoring in tips - if your having your Ferrari, Porcher etc valeted, you're tipping more then $10 to make sure it's looked after
