Totally love the OG toys but mine were given away 😥

I used to create scenarios & narratives of Leonardo fighting Darth Vader - combine my TMNT toys with my brother's OG Star Wars toys that were handed down to me

I feel your pain, my Mother (Bless her) gave away all my He Ma/Master of The Universe and Voltron toys (of which I had an extensive collection as a child) when I was about 14.

Many of said toys now worth a mint these days.

Still haven't gotten over it 😪

At least they went to a better place. Me and my brother's GI Joe games involved flammable liquids

We left some men behind in 'Nam

I reckon me and my cousins all got teenage mutant ninja turtles toys that year, with the older cousin getting a pair of Oakley's.
My guess is that would have been a couple years earlier. TMNT was enormous in 1992,(and probably earlier) we still had a few out the back in 93, but I reckon by 1994 they were gone.
Power Rangers ruled the shelves in 94
There was also an oven that was i guess like a kiln that cooked this special play doh. That thing was super popular.
Sega Mega Drive was huge, I think they bought out the Sega mega drive 2 around that time, probably a little earlier. But that was a catalogue item that was by order only.
I only had 2 christmases in the toy section, but it left an unforgettable impression.

Old skool Turtles (merchandise and toons) are the best

Modern day stuff is crap
I watched the ninja turtles and loved them. But Im a bit older, so He Man was my first love in thecartoon action figure range.
I watched some He Man as an adult. Did not stand up. I was so disappointed. Not Knightrider and A Team disapointed as I figured He Man was a kids show, Knight Rider and A team were life destroyingly bad. Taught me a valuable lesson when looking back nostalgically, things were not as good as you remember them back in the day.

14 is way too young for that sort of move.

Is your mum as sadist by any chance.

If you choose a low cost age care home for her in the future no one will blame you.

Some things are.

Doctor Who (the classic series shown on the ABC is), a timeless show that is my lifelong number 1 fandom)

Other shows I grew up with in the 80s/90s like Hey Hey It's Saturday and Hey Dad have aged like milk.

You are right plenty of shows stack up beautifully.

My little girl is 7 and we are working our way through some 80's and 90's classics.

Back to the Future, Goonies, Honey I shrunk the kids and even Gremlins all still terrific movies.

I re-watched quantum leap after the re-make. I stands up well.

Sounds about right. Must have been '92. I was definitely too old for power rangers. I remember us saving for a mega drive but we ended up with a master system because we couldn't afford one. Still had heaps of fun.

TIL that VHS tapes came in a colour other than black!
What!
You must be younger than I thought.
A coloured VHS tape was a thing.. I remember the survivor series wrestling tapes were yellow and red. A lot of family movies were blue .
My sister had a pink rainbow Brite tape
