Suckling is a massive show pony and doesn't fit our club's ethos. I've begun to hate him a bit as the season has gone on. But although his disposal is often just plain arrogantly dumb his experience and defensive hardness mean he just about stays.

I'm sorry, are we really talking about Suckling? Because defensive hardness would not be something I would use to describe him.

Anyway, we look at the guys who stood up for us. Daniel, Dahlhaus, Toyd, Hunter, all played 1 or no finals. Only one who has that played pretty well with finals experience was Picken. Do we really need Suckling's experience?

I thought Suckling was alright. Did do some uncharacteristically hard stuff.
Then of course there was stuff like being beaten one on one by Josh Hill.

I definitely wouldn't be dropping him.

hmm. Dickson is fine, had no ice on his leg and was kicking the ball, so was just cramp. Wood is more of a concern, i know he played out the game, but things might be diferent when the needle wears off and he goes cold after the game. Bevo said it was a different injury, which is my concern.

Suckling plays, was not great tonight, but was not horrible either. Like Biggs, he made some mistakes, but never gave up.

OUT= Jong is out obviously, which was a shit way to go out, can't ever fault his courage.
IN= hmm. Mclean could come in, but i am leaning towards replacing like for like, in terms of hardness and size. so perhaps webb would be the better replacement. Not sure will have to ponder it more with a clearer head and knowledge as to who we are playing, it makes a difference.

Mclean for mine. I do rate Stevens but we havent seen good footy from him since very early in the season. Also, if Koby is gone at the end of the season then itd serve us better to get a big final into Webb or Mclean. As a side note, surely Dunkley is now a starting player for us next year. Has had a great season and produced a fantastic game in his first final. I expect him to be a very handy player after another preseason and now with big finals experience.

Thoughts on Macrae. Was he forgetting the pace of the game, is he genuinely slow as shit. Got caught three or four times with the ball. Most of them from having poor awareness and treacle-like disposal.

Macrae will be fine, he showed classic signs of a player who has missed a chunk of football yet still managed to rack up 24 touches.

Will be better for the run.

Jong for the best player for Footscray out of Webb and McLean.

Hawks v Crows semi last year got 70k. This will push 80k.

Massively pumped. Still feel like I'm dreaming and haven't woken up.

Will be going tonight and watching both teams closely. Hope it pisses down and they're bruised and hurting afterwards.

Suckling was still hard at the contest and he does marshal the blokes on the ground, so he should stay in. Experience alone keeps him in IMO because his kicking was largely crap. Wowee...when he tried to kick a torpedo on the wing and it drifted into the middle of the ground to 3 Eagles...geez...

Would like to see McLean come in but think we need a bit of inside grunt to replace Jong. Leaning towards Stevens but wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't worry me if McLean came in or we went slightly taller.
