sehwag out cheaply again, very dissapointing for india. its not too often that he goes an entire series without destroying the bowling attack, india have massively missed his runs this series

ghambir and dravid though are both good batsmen to have at a time like this, both can bat patiently for long periods of time....but whatever small hope india had to actually win this test, i think it has gone now with sehwags dismissal

in fact, it probably went yesterday in the third session with their defensive fields and poor bowling (but taking nothing away from one of the great hundreds from one of the greatest crickets we've seen)

and speaking of kallis, sth africa may miss his seamers today...a lot of pressure on steyn and morkel to take the wickets today, india would back themselves i think to see off harris and tsotsobe, no disrespect to them but they're not as threatening as steyn/morkel

Is the biggest issue in world cricket right now whether a foot is a micrometre over the popping crease?

Seriously the worst thing to happen in cricket is allowing umps to refer no-balls. If you can't pick it with the naked eye, it's ****ing close enough.

It waste's times, interrupts celebrations and ruins the flow and enjoyment of the game just for the sake of a micrometre.

I hope for cricket's sake that Dravid & Gambhir are just wearing out the new ball/bowlers in readiness for a one day type chase at the 50 over mark.
If they can get to a position where 250 is required off the final 50 overs with 9 wickets in hand then this could go down as one of the better test matches in recent history.
If Dravid is merely content on saving the test then it will only cement opinion that he is a red ink specialist and a blight on the game.

They're not trying to win! They're in survivor mode for a reason, because they can't win.

doesnt appear they're going for the win at the moment, but with the saffers a bowler short (kallis) anything can happen later on if steyn/morkel tire out and harris and tsotsobe cant break through

dont think india will be all too fussed with a draw, they really blew their chances of victory yesterday after being in such a great position. i dont think an indian team has ever drawn a series in south africa, think they've lost every series since re-admittance so a draw is still somewhat of an achievement i guess

but crazy stuff calling dravid a blight on the game - he is a modern great and has 12,000 + test match runs. close to retirement but a champion of the game still

If India want to be considered a 'great side', they need to chase these targets. Great teams embrace the challenge and back their skill.

When has any side even bothered trying to chase a total like that on a 5th day minefield? No side, even the Aussies in their peak, would bother unless they had oodles of time.

fair call - just want to see a fitting end to a great test.

If they have decided to shut up shop then fair enough, but geez they still have a great opportunity to seal a series win in SAF, a rare feat as you say.
Also, there's a certain bloke nearing retirement who thrives in these situations. Would be legendary.

Series was over, nothing was on the line and nothing to gain by trying to block our way to a draw. Would have been interesting if India were chasing 100 less. Unless SA get a wicket in the next hour, a great series will get an anticlimactic ending.

Crowd is disappointing but it's been well attended overall. It would be a working day over there. Probably going to be a dull draw. Not enough in the pitch without a spinner.
