There'll be no new 2nd level buildings built in Glen Eira, unless you're getting it 100% funded by the Commonwealth Govt like Murrumbeena. We got a small changeroom and bathroom upgrade etc but it's purely bandaid fixes.
Our main rooms definitely in need for some love and a second level would make for great watching at the Kennel.
Same for others like ours , you don't want it upgraded as all they become is council facilitiesAs much as I want Mckinnon reserve upgraded I also don't want to as then we lose access more so as council start renting it out for functions etc. I do think there's scope for a netball court especially considering we are now fielding 4 teams!
I played against them at McKinnonMoorabbin VFA played where Bentleigh play

Oh I hear they're getting a $415k lighting upgrade. It must be nice to know people in high places
You mean the murrumbeena community hub thats controlled by the council?
Moorabbin 2nd Division VFA played home games at McKinnon Oval in 1984 and then ‘85, ‘86 at the new Bentleigh pavilionMoorabbin VFA played where Bentleigh play
Haha yeah that one. I will long for the day where I may be able to walk upstairs. What a day that will beYou mean the murrumbeena community hub thats controlled by the council?
What you do is swipe the doors locked and stay insideI rekon worst thing council ever did was put timing locks on our doors at Dogland. No more could we have thursday night selection drinks until 2am haha
I definitely see your point the council put in money at several clubs around city of Casey and they are awesome facilities but have been told they can’t display memorabilia like premiership flags team photos and honour boreds in the main room only in one small part usually in the entrance that a small alcove on the side it absolutely ridiculous as the first thing I always did playing against any side was go look at all those things it’s great looking at other clubs history I thinkAs much as I want Mckinnon reserve upgraded I also don't want to as then we lose access more so as council start renting it out for functions etc. I do think there's scope for a netball court especially considering we are now fielding 4 teams!

Parkdale is a perfect example , boards are hidden on the way to the toiletsAgree with this, modern designs with slanted ceilings that don't allow boards to be hung or flags to be displayed.
East Malvern have brilliant social rooms but have adapted somewhat and moved to digital boards on the tv's scattered around.
Equally surprising is St Pauls have a major sponsor like Merkon Constructions for 30 plus years who has such a close relationship but nothing has eventuated with them and CouncilWe got a small changeroom and bathroom upgrade etc but it's purely bandaid fixes.

I thought this was a footy forum! Surely there is a place for Murrumbeena to complain to the council about their lighting?don't read it

We've plenty of functions where we've had to climb out the kitchen window hahaWhat you do is swipe the doors locked and stay inside

Moorabbin VFA were at Linton St in 1983 playing Sundays and then McKinnon Oval in ‘84, remember it well as i played thereThey initially played at Moorabbin Oval but the rent crippled their finances, so they played where they trained at McKinnon. Then they went to Bentleigh after that.
