Weren't you blokes chasing Steve Wright this year as coach??

Don't think so. It was a given from when Pitts got his matching orders after we beat them in the first semi in 2011 that Steve Wright (favourite son) was taking over. In fact, most knew that half way through that season. Wouldn't mind him at Bentleigh, would be treated with a lot more respect

Keillerup gone?? No way. I thought he'd be Oakleigh Districts through & through. There's still a long way to go, a couple of the guys mentioned could be talked around ($$$$) ;)

Feddo does live in Frankston so that could seem plausible, but I hope not. Others I haven't heard of. We don't start preseason until early December so I'll be out the loop until then

With talk from the skye crew, rumours Feddersen to join them down at the hanger.

Oakleigh wont be any good without their key players. Hampton seem to be my favourite for the flag next season

I heard strong whispers that feddo was'nt happy with the way the previous senior coach sacking went down, and that he was pretty much a certainty to leave next season.
Skye would make sense as his mrs (coach's sister) is also down there. But would they want him? Mene Gene or Mad man???
Skye must be on another recruiting drive. Elimovski offered big coin down at the hangar, as well as a couple of handy mpnfl players

and as for Kiellerup i didnt mean he was leaving, just that it was common knowledge that if you shut down there big names the rest crumble around them.

Why doesn't that surprise me.. Probably got offered 4$ more then Oakliegh were prepared to offe
Do you what team homer?

Like the hammers are such a great club,is it true that your knew coach wiped the slate clean with current players and they wont receive a cent and only his mates will get payed with there 30k salary cap!!

You hit the nail on the head! How did you find out about that top secret information? and 30k?? its more like 50 champ :):):cool:

I suppose Clayton have never had players who look elsewhere around pre season?

Not always a bad thing if some players look elsewhere. Junior is a straight shooter and I am sure he has put his cards on the table and some lads may not want to buy in and do the hard yards. Those are the blokes who wont take a club forward. I can guarantee that those who do play for him will be fitter and better footballers for it

What an utter disgraceful despicable, disrespectful back stabbing low life thing to do to one of the great people ever to put on a pair of football boots. Not to mention a slap in the face to Football Australia. A fat slug who chases money who gets confused with ability and ambition, drums up false trumped up lies and deceptions to gain pathetic support to attempt to feather his own nest stating that he "Loves the club so much, he will forgo his match payments and "Only play for $100.00 a game" you are purely a pathetic excuse of existence, and should be charged with theft for stealing oxygen from someone else who actually requires it. A group of bridesmaids have stepped up and publicly announced that they are better than AFL, Really??????? Before anyone slags me off for my comments, I do in fact have a personal interest in that I do actually know the facts about this matter, I do in fact know and respect Steve and am proud to call him my mentor, my teacher and my friend.

I don't think many would disagree with what you've said Gotigr. Is it any wonder that there's now a 55 year premiership curse on the club. All Steve Wright wanted was to get the right people at the club & send the bad eggs on their way. Somehow I don't think Oakleigh Districts will ever see the big picture

Well said.....

More a poor reflection on the SFL culture (or lack thereof) as whole if you ask me.
Wasn’t he named SFL coach of the year ? Gets his club to a GF and goes within an inch of winning a flag. As Wright said it is embarrassing for the club. Is that 10 GF losses in row for OD since they won a flag? Might be while before they get the chance to lose one if that’s the way they do businesses. And this is a club that wanted to get juniors up and running!
Could not see this happening in the ammos. If you pay suburban hacks to play football at this very modest standard you can hardly be surprised if they get a bit ahead of themselves.
Gee anyone would think JimmyJack was good friends with Joe Sibilia and was describing him to a T in that last paragraph.
Fermanis and Sibilia were the instigators, organised everyone to meet at the Mulgrave country club and rang Steve to get him to resign over the phone.... Isaac gone, Oaks will struggle to make finals.
Who's going to coach the club now?It has to be someone within , maybe Fermanis or Sibilia or has plenty of football experience.

Feel sorry for Stevie Wright, but hey at least some of the shit has now left the club. I hope it will come back as a respectable and HONEST club as it used to be a few years ago.

I know who you are and you should watch your mouth, there's no need to call someone a fat slug.

So this is what Oakleigh's idea of respect & honesty is? You better look those definitions up in the dictionary and while your there, look up the word integrity while your at it.

Haha can't wait for the cash to run dry & Oakleigh fold or go to Divvy 3.
Should be ashamed of what you did to a legend.

I can understand how people from other clubs and people that are not in the inner sanctum of this unfortunate situation may think this is a disgraceful thing to do to a VFL legend. The facts are this entire situation should be blamed on the outgoing president who has been president for the last few years. Yes we made the GF, but as a group of players and club this it was nothing like the last 15 years at ODFC. To keep it simple Steve had lost the players by round 5 the president knew about this, but was happy with the situation, he was far too busy causing fights within our club and with opposition supporters.

There was about 30 players that were not going to play at the club if Steve was the coach, there were also another 10 odd players that were not playing at the club due to other circumstances which happens every year, personally these players didn’t have a problem with Steve, Steve is the perfect citizen and genuine person. The president had managed to bad mouth and upset the main person who recruits all our players and also gets a lot of sponsors on board, so this person wasn’t going to get players and sponsors on board when these 40 players leave this year. So when the new president was elected he started ringing players and he got the same message that they were not playing at Oakleigh due to the coach and the previous president, the new president spoke to Steve and the previous president they were happy for these players to go, but both men didn’t recruit any new players, if they did recruit players and we would have been semi competitive Steve would have still been coach. The players did have a meeting on the Sunday and the general contentious was they wanted the group to stick together they spoke to Steve on the Monday and voiced their concerns again, then Steve resigned on the Wednesday. Steve didn’t have to resign he could have coached again but we would have been another Parkmore, we wouldn’t have lasted half the season. In the best interests of the club Steve resigned, which was the best thing for the club.

Unfortunately he shouldn’t have been reappointed for 2013, the correct channels were not followed if they were Steve would be coaching another club right now. As for winning a flag next year that’s not the most import thing, as long as the players and people around the club enjoy themselves that’s the main thing, with last year’s president moving as he was going to vice in 2013 but has moved on. The place will be to the way it used to like a fun place to be at for all.

"So in closing, ODFC is a boys club & no-one, not even a club & AFL legend will change this. Anyone who tries to bring in discipline or a good culture will be pushed out as they do not fit the criteria of our fraternity. The fact that we made the Grand Final was nothing to do with Steve Wright, rather the people in charge of the club: The Players.

Playing football is not about winning premierships, but about having fun with the boys. Our supporters fighting with opposition fans, invading opposition half time huddles & players abusing women trainers with foul language is just boys being boys. Not winning a Grand Final since 1958 can only be blamed on people like Steve Wright. We have full confidence that ODFC will continue to have fun now that he has been ousted"

Inmates are clearly running the asylum.

So where to now? Wright is gone, who coaches? Pres is gone, who steps up? Does this mean Oakliegh wil be spending some time around the middle-bottom of the ladder. Very interesting times ahead, when do clearances open?
