Having not offered up my tips for few weeks but will have a crack this round with some crucial games being played.

Chelsea V East Malvern. EM by 100. Will be a tough day and a very long last five rounds for the Heights.

Mordialloc V St. Kilda. Word is the Bloods have been slaughtered with injury and despite very healthy numbers at the club are battling to fill their ressies tomorrow. But they keep finding a way to win ugly and expect them to get up by 10 points.

Bentleigh V Dingley. Dingoes by 3-4 goals. Back to full strength and looking ominous. Will be in the 5 by days end and expect them to stay there.

Cheltenham V Port Colts. Will be a close game and would not entirely surprise if the Colt’s got up but Chelt with more to play for will salute by 3 goals

St Pauls V Oakleigh Districts. Oaks have been brave of late and will take it up to the Doggies but expect St Pauls to be too classy and win by 5-6 goals.
Mordi aren’t struggling to fill their ressie side

You are much closer to the fire at Mordy then I am Scotty so I accept what you say however my mail was that despite having unpresented numbers across the 1s and 2s this year that Mordy have been hit very hard by injury and getting a full complement for the 2s this week has been a real challenge. Have routinely had players missing out on a game but not the case over recent weeks.

Good on Mordy for building some depth but no denying they have some big names missing (as do several other clubs). Have kept finding a way but will be tougher against quality opposition today. Should be a great game.

Yeah the injury bug has hit, the thing that’s killed us this year is a place called Europe!

Can never write off dingley. They are a huge threat come finals time.

I reckon the 5 will stay as is. But in what order I don't know.

I watched mordialloc Vs city on the weekend.

And Mordy had a lot of key players out .

In saying that I spoke to a few people from city and they had 6 under 19s playing.
So city have some good depth with having 6-10 senior players out.

City were too quick and out played a undermanned mordy. Who seemed slow.

Mordy I think suit contested football where city I think enjoyed playing on a bigger ground using the pace through there young players.

It's great to see a competitive year and I can't call a premiership favourite at the moment

Good summary Bull, City were impressive and will take some stopping especially if they get a couple of their main blokes back, plus Springy will suit them as they tore shreds off Mordi on a big ground.
I stopped off at Bentleigh on the way to the watering hole and they looked cooked, cant see them making it now.
Dingley were back to their mouthy selves and its easy to do when you're in front by 10 goals or more, not convinced they can back it up on the big ground come finals, especially away from their adoring members on the hill at home.
Chelt will promise everything but deliver nothing again, they have played well but the draw is against them. The top five at the moment are the one's who will be there at the end, its going to be a great finals series.
Prediction - Dogs - 60
Mordi - 56
City - 52
EM - 48
Dingoes - 40

Bentleigh shot and were absolutely pantsed on the weekend. All teams are vulnerable when missing key players and once Dingley got their guns back they were always going to get on a roll. A big chance for the flag.

Did not see the game but from all reports City most impressive however Mordy very undermanned. Every team has players missing but a scan of Mordy’s team sheets suggests those missing are their top end and like Dingley they will be better when they get them back. Would not read all that much from the scoreline as it looks like it blew out late when the Bloods had racked the queue. Likewise East Malvern have some top end players to return and will be better by September. Carey a huge out for them.

Some good measured analysis from the last few posts. Dingley are a big danger in my opinion, being in form and getting players back at this time of year is key. Looking at Mordy team list they had 7/8 key players out, however when are they coming back? The time until finals and to get people back is slowly disappearing, same can be said for East Malvern. Top spot is huge in regards to this for the week off, Doggies can and will wrap it up with a win this weekend.

I understand 2 are season ending but most of the rest (as many as 7 others) will drift back over the next few weeks. Having locked in a double chance some way out does afford the luxury of not having to rush players back in.

Peet returns for the Dingoes this week which will make them almost at full strength. Scary prospect.

Looking at above Dingoes will need to beat either City at farm this week or EM week after.
Interesting finish coming up.

Mordialloc vs ST PAULS

Doggies have won 8 straight and even though have been just getting it done last couple of weeks Mordialloc have far too many injuries to beat the other top teams at the moment. 17 Points

EAST MALVERN vs Bentleigh

The wheels look to have well and truly fallen off last week at Bentleigh. East Malvern need a win to try to stay in touch with the double chance, at home they will give Bentleigh a beating. 43 Points

PORT COLTS vs Chelsea Heights

Port have been producing improved performances as the second half of the year has gone on, whilst the injury toll at Chelsea has hit breaking point and they are no longer competitive. This is the best chance they have to get out of the cellar but don’t think it will happen. 41 Points

ST KILDA CITY vs Dingley

City probably put in the performance of the year last week pantsing the ladder leaders. Dingley appear to be back at full strength which sets this as the clear game of the week. City to continue on their winning ways. 21 points

OAKLEIGH DISTRICTS vs Cheltenham

Districts have been showing a bit in recent weeks and I don’t trust Cheltenham at all in games they need to win. So I’m going with the districts here at home. 19 Points.

Is it just me or do others find it interesting that EM were found guilty three times and the penalty was 1. Fine $1k, 2. Lose 4 pts, 3. Fined $3k??? WTF

Interesting yes, but is anyone surprised?? Not really. They've been given a few free kicks this year (pardon the pun)

Anyway they are likely to finish no higher 4th again anyway for the 4th year in a row. That's a lot of cash and high end recruiting for little return isn't it. Happy to see how it pans out though. Just my feel

Very interested in this weeks round of Div -1 with 4 very crucial games.
Tips as follows;
Bentleigh [ just ] Port will like the tight surrounds and close the demons up on the tight Bentleigh ground, but Bentleigh have too much at stake and should get over the line. They may be boosted due to their 19's receiving a forfeit from Keysborough.
Dingoes at home and with their loyal tribal gang at the fire pit should get over EM. From what I saw last week they were impressive.
Heighters to get over Districts for the big milestone game for big Phil.
Chelt to continue on as Mordi have hit a slump and look too slow.
City over Dogs only just but word on the street is that Krema will not play for at least 2 weeks and the young bloke Dino is out for the season, 2 big outs.
On another matter, gee whiz you would like to hope that the SFNL comes down hard on the recent debacles in the lower divisions, this includes the womans.
Ive watched allot of Div 1 this season and my thoughts are that the SFNL have really made up some ground as a comp, but then you read about the s..t that has happened and it makes you wonder. Do we really need these clubs in the comp ? Div-3 & Div-4
I'm mostly concerned with the umpires who are trying their best and especially the young umpires who have to witness this s..t on the field and then have to cop it from the ferrules off it.
Its time the SFNL make a stand and a strong one at that.

Not much happening here.

Dingley’s flag to lose. Full strength and look a cut above the others. Biggest threat will be in the elimination finals but if they get through that will waltz to their 4th flag in a row with St Pauls the likely dance partner in the big one.

Stick a fork in Mordy they are done. Season ending injuries to 5 or so of their best has derailed a promising season and they really struggled to get over Heights yesterday. EM and City a threat on their day but both very inconsistent. Surprised by yesterday’s result as a few weeks back I had City as a big flag chance. Were they missing key players?

Fair comments there BTL, looks as though the final 5 is set, this may change if both City and Dingoes get the job done and EM fall to the Colts which I can't see happening. Chelt would need to beat City by 300 points to make up the massive percentage gap to sneak in if either Dingoes or City fail. With that said, City V Dingoes in the elimination and Mordy V EM in the Qual and as Bruce would say, '' this is delicious ''.
EM were very good against City in a strong physical game but had some players very sore afterwards as did City who also had 3 of their best out, and 1 injured during the game. I agree with you Mordi seem cooked, and Dingoes look the team to challenge with good form and players back at the right end of the season.
Tips for the last Rnd.
Mordi V Bentleigh - although Mordi might just try and get through unscathed.
EM V Colts - EM to coast through, Colts probably stacking their 2's.
Chelt V City - this one's hard to predict, will chelt be resigned to the fact they can't get in and stack their 2's ?
Dogs V Heights - dogs will just want to get this out of the way with no injuries so they'll cruise.
Dingoes V District - at home on Souter they will be too strong and ditto with regards to getting through unscathed.

No way, Can’t be a dumping ground for s..t clubs, look at what’s happened previously !@@!

No thanks. Too strong for the SFNL. Huge catchment, plenty of sponsors, big supporter base and more kids in their junior then they know what to do with. Never mind the seniors, what their U19s would do in our comp is frightening. MPNL Div. 1 is the best fit so wondering why they got knocked back.

And BSA take it from me they are a strong well,-run club. Far better placed than some of the start up clubs or others who have transferred across in recent times.

Don’t have a dog in the fight but reckon shit club is harsh, they’re very well run.
Would expect a vote on Cranbourne entering in 2019... the MPNFL has knocked them back and there isn’t really any other options but the SFNL.
Cranbourne have 7 days to appeal, which they will,if the appeal is dimissed then AFL OuterEast will be there destination of choice! It fits in with there Netball.

I think that they get into MPNFL!

Knocked back by the self interested clubs who believe it will be too far to travel to Cranny and will wreck any chance of them getting numbers for U18/19's.
Sorrento, Rye,Rosebud,Dromana, Red Hill, Crib Point, Tyabb and Hastings probably the clubs that voted against.

The appeal makes for interesting reading, as even the AFLSE (who receive the appeal) have already said they don’t actually have the power to overturn the decision. So I don’t know what it acheives.

Bingo. They already have the shits with the Nepean and Peninsula merging as they have to travel north.

Might be best for all clubs south of Frankston to just form their own league.
