is it just me or are hallam celebrating this crappy pre season cup win alittle to hard?
for christ sakes they played no one and beat a div 1 sides kids and ressies.

Mate I think if your senior club was 5 years old and just got their first bit of silverware you would be just as happy and up and about as Hallam are, Hallam also had reserves and about 6 under 19s playing on Wednesday night

All I say is goodluck to them during the season

pretty stupid comment..... that crappy pre season comp had substantial prize money plus a divvy 3 team beating a divvy 1 side doesn't happen too often. practice match or not they deserve to be proud of their efforts. those kids and ressies u talk about are the future of Bentleigh so hallam have every right to be happy with what they achieved. how much prizemoney did ur team win in the comp champ?

Not sure if you went to the game but I didn't see Hallam celebrate at all. Excepted the cup and cash then walked off the ground. Didn't sing the song and didn't even have a beer.
From what I seen Bentleigh had solid side in.

Bentleigh played a weakened side through the whole Comp, just like Hampton Doveton and I think mount.

Hallam played a good side right through and were the side that took the comp seriously. They deserve their win and look in good shape to be a force in div 3. Credit where it's due, that club is doing good things. Looks like being a good fight in div 3 this year

Two full strength sides in Hallam lose by minimum 150 points... no div 3 side could go anywhere near a div one finalist.... good on them for getting the money but if they had a weakened side then bentleigh had a much much more weakened side...

Wouldn't say they took it that seriously mate when they had about 6-8 under 19s playing each week

But ah well, hallam and ashwood should be a great hit out!

From what I saw Bentleigh played 5 regular seniors from last year, one of those 7 foot giants tooeasy12 mentioned is a recruit for them who looks like a ressies player. Apart from that they were all players bentleigh ****ed off to the EB reserves last season

Hallam was close to full strentgh. Only missing 3-4 senior players. They did have 8 Under 19's playing though.

I don't why people are discrediting Hallams performance because Bentleigh had a lot of players missing. There is a 2 Division gap between the 2 teams. According to some on here if Bentleigh were full strength the margin would have been 100+ because no Div 3 team can get close to a Div 1 team.

Doesn't say much for Bentleighs depth if there is a such a huge gap between divisions, all Div 1 ressies should beat Div 3 seniors.

I'm just saying maybe Hallam have improved and have a good chance of winning this season.

Credit where credit is due but assuming all div 1 ressies over div 3 seniors is a bit weird

I'm pretty sure most think Hallam are a chance, just Not because of a few easy kills And a win against bentleigh Reserves in the preseason Comp.
They were pretty decent last year and have added to that side.

As for div 3 sides being no chance of beating div 1 sides in practice games, it's happened before and will happen again.

Sorry I didn't word it right. I'm not assuming all Div 1 ressies should beat Div 1 seniors.
People on here have said that a full strength Div 1 senior side would beat a Div 3 senior side by 100+. You would think that if that was the case that the Div 1 ressies should also be able to beat the Div 3 seniors if some of those players in the ressies are good enough to play Div 1 seniors.

YAWN!

Ex Carlton-rookie small forward in 2002, Frankston VFL, Cranbourne B&F winner and coming down from St.Pauls last season. Gun local footballer back in his day, but he's gotta be 36-37 now?

Could be a good combo with Jack Williams, buts it's still hard to see how often the ball is going to get down there. But certainly will help elevate them past the cellar dwellers this season.

Also hearing that OJ from Doveton has done himself a decently serious knee injury in the Cup game on Monday. Not season ending but will miss a chunk of the season.
