Will be interesting to see if the same excitement/attendance is generated as when HP hosted this game against Doveton. On those 2 occasions it was massive, biggest days in the clubs history.
Parkers will get up comfortably (i hope )
not sure if the crowd will be as big as previous with cranny and doveton also playing but no doubt it will be a good size crowd and the excitement will definitely be there. I dare say it will be the biggest crowd and best atmosphere that many of the springy boys have played in front of. looking forward to a rippa day at the web......
Who do u want to win ??
or are u just gonna sit on the fence and drink with whoever wins ?
winners piss
Good hit out for round one. Good crowd, good conditions played in really good spirits.
Hampton Park were tougher around the footy but Districts looked a bit more polished and quicker on the spread
Was interested to see who would lift when the game was to be won considering neither club has come from a winning 2017.
1 - Thank God for div 4 because it would be horrible
2 - Watching Hallam last week they will be lucky to score against either side
3 - Why doesn’t Angelopolous become an umpire? flipping sook....

i'm sure football will be the winner today feral, lol..... see ya down there
Two ferals screaming at each other behind the goals was a highlight of the day.
Unbelievable... u went to the Springvale players shaking hands and kissing people before the game... then again at the quarter time huddle.. but when HP got on top u distanced yourself from them and jumped on the HP wagon and didnt talk to a Springy person for the rest of the day or night.
Disgraceful
lol, I went to the HP huddle at 1/4 time and in the rooms at half time. springy huddle at 3/4 time..... spent more time on the HP side. was a great day but I think I may have over consumed a little.....
From the outside looking in last year it was a great culture...but winning does that doesnt it?Watching them for a couple of quarters on Saturday, yes - at this stage. A few fearful floggings and injuries it could be different.
Given they beat Dandenong by 4 goals over 6 quarters says that is a distinct possibility......
It’s cases like this, I know there is a rule in the SFNL that 6 (maybe) can go from one club to another, that maybe Football Victoria could enforce a cap of maybe a few more from one league to another.....say 8-10. Which gives the coach some clout when applying for a job - as he can chose those 8-10 players - without sending a club to a winless season by taking 20 or so which is no good for anyone.
I do know if it was a great culture they would stay, but how can you build a great culture on flogging after flogging????

Did H/P have any out ?Yeah had a look at both huddles to sratsky..... anyone calling either side a cerntainty for a flag has severely overrated both.... for now. Both look strong enough to play finals in 2018, but hype must be the 'in' word in this forum lol
As for yesterday's game...
Springvale:
Are springy missing players??? cause they up after 3qrt time (no winning culture??), HP seemed to give them the short kick all day kicking out but they set up to cut off the second long kick & picked it off all day, springy didn't make any adjuments??? Some good players, looked fit but looked like a lot of passensgers aswell. No.21 the fwd surely can't be there target in 2018, no.9 was dominant but not game changing. Ruckmen solid. Backline sloppy(kicking through zone, getting caught holding ball, poor switches)
Overall, probably good enough to make Div3 finals but reserves didn't look strong so nothing coming through, surely Springvale had quite a few of their top10 out? Listened to the coach who spoke well, maybe the players didn't quite implement his plan?? Or maybe no plan B??
Hampton Park :
They looked to have recruited well, lots of seasonsed footballers in its senior side. Big fwd who kicked a bag vs Skye the other night in the praccy match was totally shut out with a defender actually defending him (**skye???) , no.10 was the architect & HP looked & used him quite a lot, didn't win his own footy, easy shut down job (**springy???) HP moved the ball well when front running, not a bad side overhead, few overrated names from lyndale not contributing much as per usual, HP got away late with a few cheapies & couple holding the balls. Overall great 1st win but I'd back Springvale to bounce back hard on their on deck with players coming back (surely)
HP hosted a fantastic day, well done HP!!
welcome back footy!!! exciting 2018 ahead

That good culture is still there but even before a ball is bounced most players have decided its too hard & loser limped out of there.
It is a crying shame & i am surprised that the AFLSE cannot do anything...37 Clearances to an Z Grade Amateur club?? I could understand if they were going to better comp but seriously this is pitiful.
Springy got 3 of their first 5 goals from free kicks (not saying they weren't there) that's a lot.Yeah had a look at both huddles to sratsky..... anyone calling either side a cerntainty for a flag has severely overrated both.... for now. They otherwise had trouble scoring, were sitting 1 or 2 behind the footy, had their fwd flanks pushed up the ground. This may have been a result of springy seeing hp v Skye and hp ff controlling that game, very congested down there (spring fb played a good game though).
I would think hp will improve significantly over the season though and will be very hard to beat from here on in....
Question, what is the interchange rule in SFL.
Number 21 hurts his ankle, exits the ground 40 meters from the interchange area and then re enters the game after a period on the bench, should have been out for the rest of the game.
Hmmm very open to tactical exploitation!i'm not sure there is an interchange rule stalwart. I mean there probably is but no-one can police them as there are no interchange stewards. I know in division 2 that many clubs - springvale included, have the interchange benches on opposite sides of the ground.....
? explain howHmmm very open to tactical exploitation!
Surelyyou cant walk off the ground wherever without opposition knowing and have someone come on into a vacant forward line or a similar scenario , ridiculous? explain how
But was it a great culture last year? When the coach (now ex coach who dropped the "work commitments" can't coach bombshell, but now at Scoresby) has to post on facebook regarding training after Christmas "can players from last year please let me know your intentions" with already a truckload of clearnces gone through, then i laugh at any suggestions that a "great" culture really existed at the club.
Bloke steps off ground in back line as you kick in, bloke steps on ground in fwd line, spare player fwd.....one example, could have multiple applications? explain how
Havnt seen it happen in SFNL in 5 odd years ( maybe couple bad injuries but that' a given) just couldn't see teams Rollin like that , just a loitering comment carry on with the HP ADVERTISERBloke steps off ground in back line as you kick in, bloke steps on ground in fwd line, spare player fwd.....one example, could have multiple applications
