10 goals 10 points.. same shit..

I tipped this.. do I won I prize.

No prize this week however the 10 goal margin might be the difference next week vs Black Rock if the Jets bring the gameplan they did today. They'd have to execute it far better than they did vs Cerberus today to go 3-0. Just doesn't seem the best fit for their team.

What’s their game plan?

What’s their game plan?

One that is not the best use of their resources, both player wise and ground wise.
For mine, and i mean no disrespect to the Cerberus team who worked their backsides off and were within a kick with about five minutes to go, but the difference between them and a Black Rock side playing well would be greater than the margin today. If Cerberus keep their work rate up like they did today they will make their opponents work hard each week for any and every win.

Interesting, from an outside perspective what would you say their game plan was?

I touched on it having seen a bit of their practice match - they look to link with handball, which is fine, and a good drill to use in the warm summer months of pre-season, but in matches with a bit of pressure and it can break down, or end in the hands of the wrong player, which it did several times on Saturday. It's not something that going forward couldn't be refined or improved. Further, a switch is a great thing to work on in the summer months for fitness, but several times the switch was tried on Saturday - again, fine - but those up the ground need to work for it immediately. There is no point facing a pack down the line, switching, and then having to wait for the pack to shuffle across the other side of the ground. Players across the centre and half forward need to break as soon as the mark is taken across half back to make it an effective attacking weapon.

Given their skillset and home ground, the potential is there to utilise their runners to run and carry and get the ball to their full forward (19). For me, I'd clear out the forward fifty, have two players up forward (19 and either 70 or 59 though the latter seems to spend time in the ruck), and have 19 as the main leading option and 70/59...maybe even 10 (though he'd be better up the ground i think) in the square as the marking option. The half forwards can facing goal run onto any ground ball (and alternatively set up a defensive wall should there be a turnover), and 19 seems pretty good on the ground so long as there is a second effort.

I doubt the finals would be played on a ground the size of Black Rock's so I can understand the coach not going for that long term, but at home, it can turn games such as Saturday's from a near upset loss to a very big win.

Thanks for summing up football in general pal

Have watched snippets of all six sides from the new footage available.

Predictions for the year are this:

1. HP - new recruits have only made them stronger, especially Dye

2. Endeavour- Have lost some class but still look the good, will not rule out them running over HP come the business end of the season.

(Huge cap)

3. BR - Look a lot better than last year with the addition of some handy recruits but still a fair way off - any reason why some of there notable players seem to be playing out of position?

Clayton - a few running around in the black and white are above this grade but drop off very quickly. Good response after a poor round 1.

Cerberus - looked quite abit better against BR but will be tough with so many players coming and going. Will be much fitter than most sides which brings pressure. Can see them knocking off Ashwood a few times and maybe shock a few others.

Ashwood - they look cooked unfortunately. Too many slow unfit guys rolling around in their seniors.

You definately havent watched them at all mate, if you really think Ashwood will finish last. They will bounce back for sure

In other news, any truth to the falcons charging entry last week? If confirmed. Thats $#!÷#0u$€

Ashwood look finished to me. Only saving grace will
be if the better navy boys get shipped off throughout the year. 5th or 6th is a lock champ

When the coaches son is getting selected on form then I’m sorry, as per previous post they ARE playing unfit, slow blokes

It's free entry for every person but car parking is $5 at all home games. There's also a church next door for anyone not wanting to not pay for parking, plus we are competing against other local clubs that DO charge at the gate, so what's sh*thouse about it?? Smart I'd say 😉

Obviously you're at a struggling club crying poor me poor us or just get a job you pleb & pay the $5bucks

Gee wiz juicy clash Thursday for Anzac Day, ehills v Clayton. Hills will be fired up playing against their old coach and vice captain

Yeh hearing rumors Robert dipper is going away on a holiday next week before one of the biggest games of the season. Must be pooing his pants

Really!? Well this gets interesting ....

Well done Clays for allowing family time, besides he apparently watched both of the falcons praccy/intra club matches anyways (even texted blokes after the games) so no need to be there in person Anzac Day because Clayton will already have ALL the knowledge to beat EH..... also, is Byron Hoe out?? That's huge, he injured or away? Hope it's not those brittle shoulders giving him trouble again

Clays by 5+ goals in a cracker!!

Is it even worth the falcs boys rocking up? Seems like a no contest given all the background knowledge!?

Big weekend of footy coming up... GOTR will be black rock HP... new and improved black rock with the addition of Dobson after a couple of big wins should push HP however spiders should get up in a good hit out... Hills to give Clays a reality check with a comfortable win 10 goals+... Cerberus should push Ashwood might steal the 4 points #ownthesouth

Hi bouncey. Long time no speak.how bad has this bloody thread got. Also how bad has the comp got.
Absolute shambles. 2 horse race Hp and hills. Both streets ahead of the rest. Either one can win on the day. I'd be surprised if any other team gets close to them.
Anyone taken a better hanger since me at black rock in 2016? Hilux due for an upgrade actually. Might have to pull them back on.

Love the banter here! Long time listener, first time caller.
Heres my take on this weeks games

Hampton Park v Black Rock -
Black rock seems to improved a fair bit on last year but struggled against cerberus who copped a bath the week before. HP should have fair too much class specially at home. Few coming back for the redbacks. HP by 40 odd

Cerberus V Ashwood -
Cerberus might not have the talent but boy they have a crack, depending on who is available at their big ground they will run an old ashwood side completely off their legs. Three headed dogs by 5 points

EHills V Clayton (Dipper/Hoe Cup)
Bit of spice between these two, Hills would not want to lose to a few ex teammates. Watched Clays last week, could have won by more, deffs showed alot more heart than round 1s thumping from HP. Hills seemed to have a good hit out with HP last week. Clays were inspired last week but I think it will be short lived.
Hills by 30 +

Peace & Love

Tips for this week:

Endeavour Hills V Clayton - EH by 3 goals. Should be a ripper of a game.

Hampton Park v Black Rock - HP by 4 goals. BR have improved but HP still the benchmark.

Cerberus V Ashwood - Cerberus just, only as the game is on the naval base.
