"By 2011, Fremantle's team will be on a par, in not better than Essendon's"

Just read this article from Sheeds and while he makes some decent points and can't help, but think that he's just unhappy about the way he left Essendon. I agree that Fremantle are building are good team, but I think that their a year behind us.

He reckons that we might trade Scott Gumbleton for Marcus Drum. Why would we trade Gumby after we've put so much time in him, for a rebounding defending, who's just not getting a run at Freo. I can't see it happening?

Anyway here are what he believes the two teams will be.

Essendon
McVeigh, Pears, Hooker
Dempsey, Ryder, Lovett-Murray
Winderlich, Prismall, Lovett
Reimers, Gumbleton, McPhee
Hurley, Neagle, Davey
Hille, Watson, Stanton

Welsh, Lonergan, Laycock, Slattery, Hocking, Zaharikas, Houli, Bellchambers, Daniher

Fremantle
Dodd, McPharlin, Grover
Duffield, Tarrant, Broughton
Lovett, Ibbotson, Suban
Hayden, Pavlich, Hill
Mayne, Johnson, Ballantyne
Sandilands, Palmer, Mundy

Headland, Bradley, Crowley, Schammer, Thornton, Peake, De Boer, Solomon, Van Berlo

Note: Just Realised that Sheedy Put Lovett on Essendon's and Fremantle's Wing. Can't See Him Playing for Both Teams?

What a bitter old man. He also tips against Essendon every chance he get's now. I thank him for what he did for our club but i wish he would also be thankful of what the club did for him.

BTW Ryder at CHB? Yeah right.

Nice one Sheeds:p. No chance of either team looking like that in 2011. For starters Tarrant wont be at Freo then, Solomon will be retired and Grover will be retired and may not even be with us in 2010 let alone 2011. Guys on our bench like Thornton, Peake etc wont be with the club either. Sheeds was a great coach and legend of the game but has no idea what is going on at Freo. Doesnt take into account guys that will be picked up in this years draft. If that is our best 22 for 2011 we are doomed as I would say the Dons would be too. Things change so much in a short period of time. Nice try Sheeds but I reckon you are way wrong

Ha I can't believe this article got published.

It is the most useless thing I have ever seen.

He hasn't even put any reasons behind Fremantle's miraculous rise up the ladder. Ha all he was done is etched out their current best 22. Absolutely staggering.

bitter & twisted!

I'm so over reading his constant crap and criticism of the club in the media and elsewhere.

Who was the coach who drafted Gumbleton in the first place and labelled him pretty much the best thing ever?

He has serious issues with Jobe Watson and David Hille for some reason. He will kick them while they are down at any possible opportunity. GET OVER IT!

Funny how he won't comment on his beloved Richmond rabble though... most stupidly tipped Richmond to reach the finals this year and the Dons to finish in the bottom 4, including himself! That worked out well...

Fremantle has a very good bunch of young player that "Could" develop into a very good side so of course they may win a flag before us but it is specualtion and opinion only.

First of all Fremantle have to stop being the usual Fremantle and start showing some consistancy from year to year.
It is an intersting talking point as i think that the Dockers have just managed to get enough good young players onto their list to make them a decent side and they will not have to rely heavily on the next few drafts to make something happen.

Ah Sheeds....

Was gutted when he left, but am now quite relieved he did. Matthew Knights has been a breath of fresh air in comparison.

I will always have a soft spot for Sheeds, but his bitterness is unbecoming.

I do like his suggestion that we clone Lovett and trade one of him to Freo.

The way Lovett played in the last two games Freo can bloody have him. Went back to his soft old habits when the heat was turned up

Yeah, in all seriousness, I got a text from a mate who's reasonably well connected that said Knights wants to trade Stants and Lovett. My reaction was no deal for Stants, but I'd definitely consider the right trade for Lovett.

Squibbing two contests to the level that Gibbs did against Milne in as many weeks is appalling.
