OK, I have read nothing here or any other media, I have but one thing to say.
I am embarrassed! embarrassed to be a supporter, embarrassed for those few boys that tried.
We made port look good with that 2nd half effort, Words cannot cover the disappointment.

I will not look at any media until Thursday night, I will not talk football (gunna be a quiet week) until Thursday night.
And this will be my one and only visit to big footy until Thursday night.

For the next 5 days football is dead to me.

On Thursday there had better be some changes, some direction.

Only good thing was Roo said it was an embarrassment and some players hard to go.

The downside; that means Milera and ROB out for Ottens and Jacobs.

Jones, McHenry, Wilson, Poholke still need dev time in 2s.
Hell some of you guys need to actually know something or think before posting .
McHenry not playing this week injured and missed last week as well, so not played for many weeks .
Also not sure what 2 small physically under developed would help to apply the defensive pressure needed against Power etc

The game was an absolute disaster. There’s nothing positive to take out of this game. Worst game of the year.

We still have a disconnect between the midfield and forward line. Our forwards are consistently out of position allowing for the opposition to take intercepting marks. It wasn’t helped at times when the midfield wasn’t playing on instinct and were second guessing themselves. The amount of times we had a chance to get a goal out the back but we were too slow to move the ball on allowing time for Port to get back into our D50 to close us down. We have so many dumb footballers. Their decision making is terrible under pressure.

It’s like we don’t plan for the opposition to try and shutdown their influential players, and we always get destroyed by the star players.

Port cut us up, time and time again, through the centre corridor with quick handballs. We were reactive the whole game and from about 15 mins into the last quarter we’d given up allowing Port to play with us.

We didn’t work hard enough. They had loose players everywhere whereas we had no space whatsoever. The amount of times Port we’re outnumbering us at the contest was astonishing.

Hopefully, our reserves put in a good performance against Norwood today. We have to start pumping games into some youth because a few of our better players are about to fall off the cliff, if they haven’t already.

We’re in a unique position because we can’t play too many kids because if start losing games we should win and drop too far down the ladder then the trade with Carlton won’t look so good.

QUIZ
Gee silly old me I forgot my mouthguard and had my team play 1 man down for the best part of a whole match. With mouthguard in this week I show 50,000 people I do not know the rules and cost my club a critical goal. (hint I go missing for great periods of time during the match)
Who am I ?
A poor man's Jared Petrenko. Useless. We cant drop our key forward in Murphy. Who would we kick it to continually in his absence.

I keep hearing about after half time but this was changing in the 2nd quarter.
We missed a heap of shots but then they started getting on top in the 2nd and moving the ball forward too easily.
I said later in the 2nd quarter that our defence was saving us thankfully. They can't stand up to this forever.

Then the dam wall broke.

This was why I thought Scott Lycett was best on ground.

When he went off late in the first quarter, ROB and our midfield took control. We had the run of the green with ball movement and flowing up and down the ground.

Then Lycett retuned in the second quarter and by the 15th minute mark, Port won the arm wrestle back in their favour and took control of the game. Lycett was dominate against ROB and this gave Grey first look st the ball.

It changed when harlett elbowed our guy in the face. Port were keen for a fight, our guys not so much.

There was one play that just highlighted to me how dumb we can play. Ball bounces in the air, ROB and Wayne are the two Crows in the immediate area, ROB jumps up to tap it to Wayne at ground level, so what does Milera do? Jumps up to tap it too. It's like WTF? The ruckman is there, stay on your feet so you don't entirely take us out of the play even if you don't win the ball, but both Crows went up for it and Port won it easily

No it's the year club founded , 120 years before Crows.

Just bad day out for Crows , I think both teams will make 8

Why do you wear this "years existed" thing like some sort of badge?
None of us were even alive then. Not that it even matters.
It's an embarrassing chest beating exercise. No one cares, it's irrelevant.

I bet some of the Vic clubs who were created years after the others care so much right now.
A club can never win a flag again but hey, they were created 51 years before the other. :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:
It matters zero.

Wha ! Well stuff me. I thought the objective was to score goals ! By extension your logic means we didn't win the game so it matters 0 !??
No, the fact that'll it was called play on matters 0, as the kick wouldn't have been scored even if allowed. From the behind the game kick camera angle it looks like it lands near the behind posted and gets punched back into play.

Ipso fatso, the play on call was irrelevant.

Nice point though, whatever it was.

More a general commentary on the club selection ethos. In this game would likely not have made a difference with.

Would any fit young player selection make the team worse than going with Douglas or Mackay? Doubtful. Maybe not much better, but not likely worse.

I've asked this to so many Port fans and can never get an answer.

How is an SANFL flag from 100 years ago relevant to you? How is the performance or even longevity of a non for profit sports club that can't go broke (even then still bailed out a number of times) meant to make someone feel proud?

I can't work out what is missing in peoples lives that they need to rely on these things for personal value.

I mean can i claim being a good horse rider because my grandfather used to ride a horse at work?

What are you talking about? He played out the full 2016 season and finals. Was given a pity coaching/playing contract in 2017 because the club didn’t have it in them to delist him after he’d spent half the year telling anyone who’d listen that he wanted to play on. The club’s choice was to embarrass him by delisting a player who had no place on the 2017 list or confuse up a sham reason to retain him.
I thought he said he retire end of season mid 2017 and said to the players, "watch out I will still looking at your places".....as he wasn't getting any games. He was good in 2016.

Worst 3rd quarter performance I can remember from the boys - bullied by these flogs like a bunch of soft c**k nerds in a school yard.
Kudos to Port, they have shown us how to run and carry. Pyke, your game plan does not work against teams who like to run. We keep dropping players who can run. We don’t have the marking ability to kick and hope. This is poor selection and poor game plan. You’d think last week showed this. And again Atkins...I am not a fan, but I won’t pin this on you.
