Not quite right-as per the National Player transfer regulations amended Jan 2010 the right papers still have to be signed and approved-until the transfer is signed and approved the player can continue to sign contracts willy nilly In other words the contract only becomes valid when the player is registered with the club and that cant be done until the necessary transfer paperwork has been submitted.Even our local players going to the VFL need to obtain the necessary permits

your dreaming mate the only way these boys are getting out of those contracts are with a very good solicitor.. clubs in canberra don't stuff around with three or four page contracts with loop holes they invests large amounts of money in making sure these sorts of things are air tights. compared to the contracts that are running around in the valley the difference is massive. i've heard of a bloke suing an afl canberra club for 250,000 dollars as his contract was broken pre mature. so in summary NO players cannot sign contracts willy nilly because clubs up there have the balls and cash to take you to court via the cleaners so maybe just stick to what you know upwey fan which is three parts of didly squat!

I'm not disputing the fact that the contracts are legally binding, but they only become so when the player goes through the clearance process in February.

again mate that might be the case with a standard vcfl contract but these are anything but your standard contract they are legally binding the minute they are signed.. the clubs up there do not simply download a contract from a website and use it they pay solicitors to draft up copies and do them professionally im talking 26 pages of sh#t that you need an interpretour to understand. they have a media gag, a no betting policy, no skiing or any other dangerous activity clause and many others.the clearance dates dont even come into the equasion! and by the way have you signed one? have you even clapped your eyes on one?

Just had a look in my rules book and it says that; any agreement between a player and the club with which he desires to play will terminate in the event that the player in unsuccessful in obtaining a clearance from the club and league in which he last played.
So basically if his original club doesn't clear him, the contract with the new club is null and void.

For your information I have one of their contracts in front of me as we have close ties with the Ainslie Football Club.Once again I repeat the contract is not valid until a clearance has been submitted and approved. If you don't believe me contact Jack Masters the AFL Eastern Conference Manager and he will confirm such

i think you will find that a player cannot have his clearance knocked back unless he owes money or has goods that belong to former club. and these clubs especially ainslie f.c organize everything for you as far as your clearance's go and they make sure that this process runs smoothly i.e fix up any outstanding financial dramas. they will if they choose to make these players live upto their respective contracts, im pretty sure if you read the entire contract it will state that the player will basically be held to this if the club see's it in thier best interest to make it so. so basically anything short of taking them to abritration will result in these boys not being able to play for another side. as far as your close ties with the club and you knowing best i know thier football manager, president and board members personally so trust me in saying that all the bush lawyers and rule book readers mean stuff all they have the money and power to not allow players who have signed to leave i'm sure that these fella's who have stuffed up took sign on fee's were getting paid what the club call L.A.F.H.A or living away from home allowance.. plus relocation costs so therefor ifto facto those players are in the ainslie football clubs debt so could not be allowed to play elsewhere without first settling this debt. and trust me if ainslie are owed something and have got the wrong end of the stick they will be very keen to square up but you would know all this surely as your in the know and own all the rule books! so i'm probably preaching to the choir... We are talking about a football club that is a multi million dollar business if they choose to drag this out in the courts which i doubt they would but it wouldn't surprise me if they did they could! these fella's might be in a bit of sh#t! bottom line if they wish to hold them too it they will. the only club in australia who have anywhere near the same pull or money is southport f.c so unless the boys have signed with the sharks they couold be in in strife....

Still the fact is no enforceable contract until the clearance goes through which as we know is automatic unless he owes his old club money or possesses club goods but that doesn't happen until February-then its a different story. If you know as much about the Ainslie Football Club as you say you will or should know the link between the 2 clubs

as you say money has changed hands therfore they have activated the contracts dates are irrelavent.. anyway put your head back in the rule book it would be a good change from checking out your bowel....

you were on heaps more though when you were down there rossco. shouldnt you be more concerned with trying to fill the gaping hole swan hill put in your mob a couple of months back???

did you say reece walsh and mitch newton there would have been 20 better players in the under 18's than them 2 duds if they have been offered contracts up there than there should be a number of under 18 players being drafted this year.

calder from warby has gone so that's 4. smith will be the hardest to replace from interleague side for obvious reasons. some quality and experience will be needed to fill the captaincy role..

Pretty lucky to get a gig young Calder! No doubt the 3 mt ev boys will leave a massive void but 4 doesn't make half a side! Lot of people suprised rusty cowan didn't get a look in last yr ! Maybe he is in the mix next yr has looked very impressive on the track

Not like back in the day when you and a couple of your mates were running around dominating country Victoria dalts..........

moe, coralyn, beaconsfield and mulgrave that i know of.basically he just chases the money and would change clubs straight away for an extra 50 bucks.

Haha thats a good dig? Ive played against him also. I think if you looked at it closely you would see his been an assistant coach for 4 years now so itys about time he took a job. By all reports his recruited about 7 players that will all be dominant at div 2 level. His brother Mitchell Collins is a massive pick up.
