Silly Season - Whispers

Always such interesting reading on this site, such a wealth of knowledge to our great game. I never knew there were so many hard luck stories to come out of the Yarra Valley, any wonder the bar sales do so well! Can anyone tell me in this day and age with the player payments at an all time high how these clubs remain strong for such long periods of time? Must be so hard to attract players out here, especially to a place like Warburton?

Haven't woori learnt from buying ex afl players?
Munkhorst,dermie,Simpson
Manson, ash manson that is
It hasn't got them anywhere
Moorcroft has had a crook back for years
Maybe it's time to play some kids

Woori have just been terrible under Damien! :)

He has been amazing for our league and under his guidance Woori have certainly been the benchmark of consistency within the league and have set the standard for all other clubs. Hopefully Damien will continue to involved in some manner at Woori or for the league as a whole.

Who is this Bertron, he may get eaten buy him if he makes these statements, Moorcroft would be a good fit at Woori. Just remember Bertron Woori missed the finals once in the last 10yrs, 2004 after about 15 players either retired, went overseas or away from the area after the premiership in 03. We took on a very good Silvan side with a 1/4 of the budget they had, with mostly local talent, knocking them out of the finals 06 at Yarra Junction in what some say, the best game seen in the Valley. Then Silvan beating Woori in the GF 07, which again was a great game with most likely the biggest crowd ever at a YVMDFL GF.
So if local clubs can get ex AFL players that will play with the right intentions and not blow the budget do it Bertron

There wouldn't be 1 club in the yv who would say no to getting moorcroft so if woori can get him then thumbs up. Are you confirming the recruitment burnt out?? Good get if so.

Don't forget to include your budget was impacted from propping up worawra. 2nd div was close. Woori are a very creative lot. Thinking outside the square has def helped them since 2000

LOL not so much the budget, the use of the presidents tractors at the time to get the oval in a usable condition, supplied 2 players to help build a team, 1 of them a great of the club lol ( flat nose B Hay ) who went on to break his ankle during a best on ground preformance a (PB 5 possessions). LOL yes you may say creative, but we like to see it as caring for others. To provide these services and breaking bones should be commended, not used for a little snide remarks LOL

Super end to December block of training this morning with a practice match. T Hancock looks well worth it, and some of the blokes having another crack showed that they have something to offer. Doggies hoping all clearances come thru at feb.

What weekend do the boys head off to Arizona oldtimer?

Oh it does serve a purpose MIW. Helps establish a platform for improvement. If you get 60 footballers turning up for a practice match the week before Xmas, you would hope there was a statement being made. That they are serious about being a senior footballer. Hopefully it equates into wins

More than likely part of there contracts. With almost 70% imports and on coin you'd expect that to be a clause.

Denial is a important step....

We will see come round 1 huh...

Every player from this year has trained bar 2 Creeper (retired 36 years old) and Wayne Robbo (35 years old) who has left for Junction. 45 on track Thurs night including AJ. New recruits as well. Kids flying.

Just saying....

Throw in a 35k a year coach and 2012 is all yours.
