And everyone thought St Kilda was lucky to make the top 4 last season...

Think we showed we were worthy with the start to 09.

And yeah, the team that finishes 4th this year will probably be considered even more 'lucky'.

My money's on Port, not sure on the other.

Brisbane are the ones really looking the goods.

Hard to see Geelong, St. Kilda, Bulldogs and Hawthorn not featuring... but obviously the latter two aren't locked in as of yet.

Brisbane most likely, then Essendon. Possibly Carlton and Port, but I doubt it.

Trend will be broken, I can almost guarantee you that.

If we can start winning some of the close games (ie: the weekend) we have a VERY SMALL chance of getting above the dogs. However I don't think that will happen.

The only things that are certain are the fact that Geelong and St Kilda will make the finals and Richmond and Melbourne wont.

Honestly, West Coast and Fremantle are only two games (and percentage of course) away from third spot:D

About the strength of it
If Brissie can get their more established rucks back in action they're half a chance. If we can get all of our injured guys back before others get injured, we're half a chance. Then Port, then Carlton in about that order.

LOL Brisbane and Essendon are not good enough to make the top 4.

The only reason Hawthorn isn't top 4 now is because of their huge injury list, but now they are geting a lot of their premirship backline back, they'll be in the 4 by the end of the month.

The Lions and Bombers (and Carlton and Port for that matter) aren't much compared to the current top 4 of the league .. Hawks, Cats, Saints, Dogs.

Woudn't mind comparing both teams injuries from when they played eachother.

Brisbane were doing very well against the Saints, Essendon beat Hawthorn by 44 points and beat St Kilda for 3 quarters and Port/Carlton can beat anyone when they are on their game.

The "current top 4 of the league" is actually. St Kilda, Cats, Bulldogs and Essendon.

Injuries shouldn't be an excuse when you are comparing Essendon and Hawthorn.

Don't see this happening this year despite the statistical evidence.

Port, Carlton, Richmond and Brisbane are all realistic (to very good) top 8 chances, but I don't see any of them as making the top 4.

After being mocked for this post back in February, I am now claiming victory 8 weeks out.

So we need Carlton, Essendon or Brisbane to get a move on to be a bottom 8 side to make the top 4, and we need Port to make the finals to be a bottom 4 side to make the 8.

The odds are against both of these things happening, although if the Dogs win tonight and Carlton knock over Collingwood next week, it is game on again. Port have a good draw as long as they don't turn into woeful Port again.

Still dont rate Brisbane, they cant travel. Would consider picking Fremantle against them this weekend.

Essendon still the best bet. Though top 4 looks locked away
