Might be our back-up plan if Vlastuin gets taken early I guess. We do need an inside mid.

Firstly Vlaustin is one of my favourite players. Been keen on him all year as just think he shows poise that will stand him well. You will certainly get Vlaustin at 9 if thats where they are going because I cant see who would take him first. I think the bigger issue is what happens if another player falls that you are equally fond of such as Plowman or Stringer. All potential ball winning midfielders so I think if Richmond want a ball winning mid at 9 they will be there. If they go with an outside type then thinking about who would be around at #32 would be interesting. Longergan will be gone, Wright probably would be gone but if not he could certainly be that player but Graham, Pongracic & Carter would most likely be there.

i like this draft you are just about the only person having the dogs taking stringer at 6 which is what i have been hearing for a while now. also what do you think the likelihood of toumpas really sliding out of top 3? been hearing a bit that GWS will take whitefield, menzel, plowman do you think this will be the case? and if so what do see the dogs doing with pick 5? i like the look of mason shaw he likely to be available at 22? and would we pick him up?

Yeah I like Stringer a lot and if he gets outside the top 10 somebody has got a steal.

Re Toumpas yeah I think you are right the Giants are still settling there top 3 but I think you will find it will be pretty clear in next 24 hours. Personally would be surprised if he dropped out as he is just a smooth operator who reads the game so well and executes everything perfectly. I do think he and Whitfield are locks but I think the 3rd spot is open for one JO, BG, LP and TM.

But look if that happens and then Melbourne go with Wines (am presuming that is what you are thinking) then I think the Dogs should go Toumpas and ORourke as I have both rated higher than Stringer (just). Gives you a nice balance but look you couldnt argue if Stringer replaced JO.

Sounding like Mason Shaw is slipping a bit and yes if there at 22 you should jump all over him or Tim OBrien. I hope Collingwood take Shaw so you can have Tim OBrien. Not much between them but like Shaw positional scope. Shaw has been better performed which I put a fair bit of stock in but some guys I talk to in this space are pretty excited about OBrien upside.

I don't have as much knowledge about this draft pool as usual. Have been overseas since June, so haven't had as much chance to see things first hand. Basically all of my info is 2nd hand, outside of videos of TAC / Championships games that I've downloaded.

I'm just saying that we seem to really like our Dandenong boys, so it's possible.

Sorry maybe my written word gave wrong impression. I think its entirely possible bc whilst I am pretty sure the top 30 - 35 players I have listed will go I equally think after that you could well find many many names called that havent been focused on in my mock draft.

Lowrie, Rodda and Marsh.

Perfect draft for West Coast there. :thumbsu:

Yes it looked a good mix but hated having all WA blokes there. Did look to shuffle it but I think most of the WA boys will go in the 35-65 range in this draft outside of Simpson, Shaw and maybe one or two others.

Tell me your views on taking a player like Duffy, Taylor or Yarran?

Snoop , just off topic if I may , would like your thoughts on Hawks getting Jed Anderson , how you rate him and where in the draft he may have lobbed ...? I ask because I spoke with someone close to the club on the weekend and the raps are huge internally.
Cheers Dasher.

They should be - seen a lot of him and I had him in the 13-20 range. An amazing prospect and has massive upside. He is one of the best footballers I have seen out of NT. Smooth, quick, unreal ball use and loves traffic. He is a game changer as well!

Was furious my club didnt do that deal.

Ps Watch out for Braedon McLean as well. May go rookie but nearly as good.

Haven't Melbourne all but said they'd take Toumpas over Wines if he slips? That would make picks 5 & 6 interesting, as Wines is not really the type we need but B-Mac loves that type anyway.

yeah I think so and would expect them to but they have put work into a few players knowing GWS arent sure on BG. I would take JT over OW but wont go wrong either way. Expect OW to land at Dogs and then JS or JO with him.

Would be happy to take Duffy personally, but all those three are rookie selections IMO. Would be unhappy to take any of them in the ND.

Geez if we took Wines and Stringer I wouldn't want to come up against our midfield in a couple of years. Wallis, Libba, Smith, Picken, Wines, Stevens, Stringer, Griffen. It's safe to say you would have a few well earned bruises and be lucky to be alive :p

yes well certainly if clubs are baulking at Gartlett bc of his issues it probably does not bode well for any of them in the National Draft.

yes and then assured of a very good tall in the early 20's. Doggies board will go nuts on Thursday nigth about 830pm

Jacobs I dont know much about and his name hasnt come up.
Yarran is top 20 on talent but he regressed at pace this year and just doesnt get involved enough for mine.
As you probably saw he can kick some bags but the gulf between best and worst is huge and is some query over his committment.
If Duffy didnt go last year hard to make a case that Yarran goes this year. I hope he does bc I love seeing talented players get a go but history says he will struggle.

If Stringer is available for Geelong at 16 Wells will snap him up in a heartbeat. Is just the kind of payer Wells loves, solid build, can play a few positions, has a bit of a hard edge to him.

Stringer would be a perfect replacement for Joel Corey for 2014
