The only thing a bagger can do for me is to continue to suffer in the sewer where your corporate sucking leadership led you forever.

Now please turn off daddies computer and finish your homework.

I think the thing you have to remember..

These things are ****ing hard to win!
A bounce the other way in 2010 and we would have lost another.

16 other teams would have loved to have a crack at it today, but they weren't good enough.

We lost to one of the great goals in recent history given the moment.

There is no shame today.
None.

Was it an error though?
If he had kicked it we would all be applauding his match winning goal.
He took on the responsibility and backed himself in.
I hope he never stops doing that.
That's what champions do, they back themselves, and more often than not it pays off.

If it's the kick I'm thinking of, he should've stopped and lined up the shot. The Weagles were all over us in the air at the time so minimising possesions was the smart thing, but running on at that angle wasn't his best move.

Didn’t mind him having a shot, didn’t have to kick a banana, had time to straighten up.

One thing that's been overlooked, but how ******* tough is Brayden Maynard? Got opened up at full force to the ribs in the first quarter and basically ran off the ground and came back on to play the rest of the game. Wouldn't be surprised if he had a broken rib or two after that.

Good call!

That was a solid, fair, but a bit cheap bump.

Bruzzie is made of teak!

Would have loved to see a couple of our boys lay down the law in similar fashion (Greenie, Bruzz, Sier, Grundy - looking at you!)

Thanks for the great game, have been some classics between the two sides and lived up to the hype.

You guys did your homework and took out our prime movers comprehensively today.

Thought our defence held up your small forwards.

The tandem rucks wore Grundy down.

Hope we have a similar return from our loss in the coming years.

Enjoy the win, my Grandpa was a huge Eagles supporter and just missed out on seeing this one. Hope he is enjoying it now.
classy :thumbsu:

Was at the game and you could feel the weight - we just couldn’t hold any lead we had.
Lead for at least 90-95% of the game.

At least you did better than port. They led by 100% of game time and lost against us after the siren. You guys were bloody good today and were within a bees dick of a premiership. Any talk of your players not standing up under pressure is nonsense. Your players were on from the bounce, young and old and you nailed clutch set shots whilst we missed a heap, until Sheed. I have nothing but respect for your lot after today and you should feel the same way.

63 Inside 50’s to 48 Inside 50’s.

Where was our midfield?

That inside 50 number was inflated due to our lack of ability to mark the ball on the wing and Eagles getting repeat entries.

Also lack of someone running to provide an option other than a long kick to where the Eagles spare man was sitting.

The one time in the 4th qtr we did switch it went into our forward line.

The Saints parrot out that "one lucky bounce" thing a lot, but what they forget is that they already *got* their lucky bounce, when the ball bounced freakishly on its end over Lumumba to sit up just right for Milne in the first place.

I take your point though.

Hope the Brown brothers and Daics were watching carefully today as there are a couple of spots there if you want it bad enough.

Also Elliott and Moore (if you stick around) get fit and stay fit, we could have used you today, maybe even Reid.

Shaz? The spot is there for you, just come back.

Such a weird feeling, given the team and injuries we had all year, we really had no right to make the grand final.

On top of that we were pretty much out played for 3 quarters of the game and very lucky to still be in it at the end.

But time is linear and to have all that fall our way and then not take the chance is gutting. The fact that the final goal was a result of a very very poor umpiring decision makes it sting that little bit more.

Overachieving to make grand finals is a great thing (just like 02 and a few times in the 70s), I just wish that we could have turned a couple of them into premierships. Especially this one...

This is exactly how I see it. For me this just doesn't hurt as bad as '11 - just felt like we were the best team all year, we were up in the gf and then it all just fell to pieces. The draw in '10 was also pretty sickening as well. On balance we were pretty lucky to get to the last game and then lucky to be in it so long (63 inside 50's to 48) - the fact that despite all that we could have won it makes it hurt enough though. And really, f*** me, as a Collingwood supporter how many losing gf's do you have watch.

serious question-why was your runner one of your vfl players who clearly couldn't have run too often during the season given all the vfl games he played?
Done his fourth ACL in the VFL early last year after 3 previously while on Hawthorn's list. I suspect running was a way to keep a great clubman involved with Collingwood. Made his VFL return on 1st July, so would have ran two thirds of the season.

To be honest I was dirtier on WHE at 3 quarter time. Looked like he pulled up well away from the man on the mark and then failed to make the distance by about two metres. Reckon he still had that space left in his run up.

May be remembering things poorly though, I only watched (and plan on watching) it once.

Blaming the umpires is ridiculous.
They made some howlers against us but there were so many free kicks that weren't awarded to WC as well.
Multiple times I saw our players get given way too long to dispose of the ball, there were numerous times we clearly pushed WC players in the back and a free wasn't awarded etc etc.
For every shitty decision we can mention WC can counter with one as well.

They were the better team and deserved the win.
It sucks but that's the facts.

Ok loser....I know it hurts continually losing GF......
Then again ...no I don’t!
Judging by the quality of your posts, you have neither the age or the IQ level to remember ever playing in a Grand Final. I'm guessing single digits for each?

Watching the replay after being at the game.
We managed to score 1 point in the last quarter, with 14:30 mins remaining in the game.
WC just kept pushing, we just couldn’t hold them when it counted.

Bucks said we didn’t play with dare, kind of hard too when we pushed so many numbers back and had no one to kick the ball too when won the ball back.

We never gave ourselves a chance by not having a couple guys outside defensive 50
