Well then
Nunaybiznass.
I know this sounds weird but I come on here to talk footy and have a laugh.
I just don't care about much else when I'm on here.

Well then
Have you got something in your eye. I think I know what it is
Would I be right in guessing you're a straight white dude?
Hopefully you'll do some self-reflection and see the irony in calling racism and homophobia a privileged 'first world problem' when you're the one who's privileged enough to not be personally affected by either.

How good is humour at deflecting from looking at the mirror from the fact that you're a bit of a campaigner hey
Absolutely, and I never took part in it. I find it distasteful. If we're gonna sit here and say 'can't say that, against the rules, deserves punishment' about some things like this, then practise things that are also against the code of conduct of footy, it never sat right.Actually, I forgot about the Shaun Hart stuff in my previous post. The stuff said about him on this board would absolutely have you hauled before the AFL Integrity Unit if said on the field. On BigFooty, totally acceptable.
Just illustrates that different groups of people in different settings have different standards for what can and can't be said.
Mine almost literally is my name lol and even if it isn't I know that people on here have doxxed me anyway with the stuff I post about.Exactly. How many people would be willing to change their profile to their real name for a while. I sure as hell wouldn't. The mutha F persona is a complete a-hole I use to get out all the horrible suppressed side of my personality that comes from the frustration of being a 2024 supporter, or maybe a cheap laugh, or just to be a bit of a troll. Stuff I would never say in real life. Complete sociopath. He needs to go.
Historical context matters. It's fair to say no one (as far as I know) has been chemically castrated because they are bald or fat. This sort of morale righteousness is a bit much at times. There's a difference between crass and malice. The former should be avoided but the latter is far worse.
In fact, some people would log onto this board and be pretty disgusted by some of the personal and nasty insults directed at club players, coaches and officials - including but not limited to derogatory comments about height, weight, skin, facial features, hair loss, etc. I'd argue the people making these comments aren't exactly coming across as lovely, kind and wonderful people.
Hart boasted of actively proselytising in the workplace wherever he goes.
“I call it ‘throwing seeds’”
Whether someone said anything particularly bigoted regarding that is poor form, but it wasn’t a case of unsolicited mockery.
Would you get in to trouble at your work if you called someone from a different work that? Cause that's more like what it is if someone is at a different team. There's certain things it's still considered ok to call people as long as you're playing the issue. If someone is a campaigner and if they do something stupid, fair go.I would rightly get into trouble if, in anger, I called a work colleague a "stupid f***ing c**t".
The AFL has recently taken a stronger stance against abusive language directed by players to umpires. If they one day decide that abusive language directed by players to opponents no longer constitutes acceptable workplace conduct (and the football field is a workplace for players), we will survive.
AgreeSomeone’s right to freedom of religion ends where my right to be free from religion begins. If they want to cross that line then you get what you get and you don’t get upset.
I'm one to take part in jocular conversation from time to time amongst mates in the right setting as you say, making what could be considered humorous implications about another's sexual behaviours based on stereotypes, if they leave themselves open to such a remark, but that particular word is never part of it and I wouldn't accept it from a mate either. Some things just have roots in malice.Yep amongst other superlatives - just terms of endearment when you're in the correct environment - It's fine if you don't "get it" but that doesn't make our behaviour wrong, it's just different to what you may accept as appropriate.
Whoever made that slogan must be unaware that pr0n exists.Reminds me of the move by a certain South Australian Upper House MP, he found the term 'Golden Gaytime' offensive. I wonder if Streets have thought about withdrawing this advertising slogan...

Did it throw you for a spin every other time you've probably used it? Like this board tends to do whenever Gary Lyon is mentioned?Yeah fair enough. The idea of someone bragging on the internet about how they and their mates call each other ******s, in 2024, kinda threw me for a spin.

Unless he was cheating on his wife with a man, then no. That's not what happened. This board uses homophobic slurs against Gary Lyon? I thought it was more about him cheating with his mates wife.
I dunno, I've thrown about plenty of insults on here but I don't think I usually go the "suck a dick" route
Words like f*g and re**rd were being published in gaming magazines and sold to kids in the early 2000s.
Agreed, that slogan definitely has a deliberate double meaning and as you suggest probably helped give the product its longevity.Whoever did make that slogan was 100% aware of the connotations.
That's the precise reason it's lasted as long as it has.
Google "what is a bundle of sticks called".Apologies, I failed cryptic class at high school, so I still have NFI what was said.
Anyway mare…
