If you cover someone else's song, but give them the writing credit, that isn't stealing. You're just covering the song. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Taking someone else's song and giving yourself the writing credit, that's stealing.Elvis didn't invent SHIT, and to say he gave credit to every single song he covered is plain wrong. Half the songs he "covered' no one knew who wrote them in the first place. They had been covered for years by a great number of different black artist over many many years. Rolling stones did the same thing.

How and why does it matter if nobody knew who wrote the songs in the first place? He still credited them - all of them - to whomever wrote them. And saying that I'm just plain wrong is 100% incorrect. Which songs did he not credit the song's writers?

Wow. Uncalled for. My Grandma didn't have an easy life. Grew up in a nunnery, didn't see her real mother for 42 years after they were torn apart. Never knew her father (wasn't on birth certificate). Died only 54 years old of a brain tumour (I was 2 years old).
She loved Elvis so much that when he died, her faith in God actually shattered a bit.
Wouldn't be surprised if she loved other music including those by black folk, I'll have to ask my mum. Disgusted you would say something like that...
